This place was bananas... we had thought once we found out the decision was being held 15 minutes from the Knicks training facility that he was in the bag. Too think it could've been Knicks fans celebrating a championship last year or the year before is just gut wrenching.

before this thread is over I hope someone could resurrect that thread and pinpoint the moment Bron took his talents to South Beach! Didn't everyone change their icons to burning LeBron jerseys?

Anybody remember when DikembeSaysNo got kicked off for helping some woman named Alex Golden write a book or something?

It was the Watergate of the RealGM NY board.

DSN left in an angry huff, put a curse on the forum, and started his own Knick board.

Didn't Cosmic start his own board too? He was the man.

Cosmic was cool but he got a little too heated when people criticized certain parts of the team. I loved his video compilations though. Those are missed. He's been MIA for a while.

I tried to find an old thread once, And I just said F**K it. Gave me a headache.

EDIT: An old thread that is, I can find new threads just fine.

If anyone can help me out with these remaining points and questions I made on the first page:
Shpati21 wrote:Boy do I have some questions. And I need a good read tomorrow morning, so please help a fellow knick fan out.

What about MLE Cat? I still see a couple of users rock that MLE Cat avatar.

Who is hutnik?

Why is Pharmcat so "special"? Was he a mod of the Knicks board before?

Was KnicksGod a mod of the Knicks board before?

I remember a poster got caught for a duplicate by Kane2021 in a thread a little less than a year ago. And he tried to say someone hacked his account and started posting on it, so he made another one. Something along those lines. Anyone have that thread?

Steve Bang wrote:Man, I've been a lurker for a long time; probably since '02-'03. I've seen a lot of posters come and go, some of whom were very memorable.

- DSN (DikembeSayNo): From what I remember, he was one of the firsts to have a "source." Him and his buddy GKF.
- Richard Hutnik: board game creator. I could be wrong, but I remember him being very sensitive when arguments arose and would leave at months at a time only to re-emerge eventually.
- Krokrony (or something like that): one of the first really memorable, really annoying posters. The dude would create like 10-15 new threads a day, some of which were so completely absurd and unneeded.
- Dr. Harvey: I remember when he first started posting, he created an introduction thread and everyone welcomed him with open arms. But his posting style and commenting began annoying the heck out of the majority of the board and he stopped posting.
- Jazz(FU): Back then, when there were arguments, each side disputed their perspective respectfully. He was such an intelligent poster. Even if he disagreed with someone, he wouldn't resort to insults or "u mad, bro?" comments. There was a period from like '04-'06, somewhere around that time, which I consider the "golden era" simply because of its posters like: Matchman, Powerforward99, TheBluest, Majorleads, H20, PornDoc, and others that I'm forgetting. Posts were more detailed and went into depth. It's funny b/c there were comparison threads back then too (Spreewell vs Houston for ex.), but I don't remember it ever turning into wars or to the point where people were on separate sides.

This board really goes through cycles. There's always an influx of new members, and with that, you'll get the occasional trolling poster, intelligent poster, etc. Just enjoy it and remember, it's basketball, so it's all good.

you're not a lurker, no way in hell

This is pretty strange.. I found the thread leading up until minutes before Lebron actually says where he's going.. but for the life of me I can't find the thread Part12 where he actually says Miami.. hilarious stuff though.

I've been lurking for YEARS before I decided to join up. I remember the Q2N8 days and of course the DUNK lmao. Those pics of him just made me crack up.

The Decision was the funniest because I believe Stephen A had just reported it the night before that his sources told him he was gonna say the Heat. The board went CRAZY. Half of you didn't believe him and the other half did and your whole attitude went down the drains lol.

I believed him of course... I had a hard time sleeping so I kept refreshing the board to see if another source came out and said Knicks but slowly all the reports said Miami and surely enough LeBron made us wait that dreaded hour. I wonder if the "Decision" thread is still around?

I don't think so?

All I know is he got banned from another Knicks site for some racist rants and he hasn't been heard from again.

Nice post.

Now STFU & GTFO, ballboy.

Ha Ha, this is so similar to me. I set up an account a few days ago to start posting on this board, I think it was 8 years (and 4 computers ago) that I had an account (Knickle Bag or something like that), I moved state, got busy with work and always read but never posted for a looong time. Some memories that have stuck and brought me back
- The draft thread when we picked Sweetney over Lampe or Sofo. People were going nuts until Lampe slipped all the way to 30 and then it was crazy jubilation
- Jazz(FU) and NYKinOz were two I always respected
- The posts during the Larry Brown era were as mad as the team on the court
- I would love to be able to find the Denver/NY fight threads and re-read. I am not sure if Melo was given more abuse now or then...
- Was DSN the kid who was desperate to be a mod and wanted to be a basketball journalist and was always trying to get internships with the knicks and media? I remember a big stink when he got sent away
- For someone on the other side of the world, Cosmic videos were mana from heaven
- Missing the TKF postgames - less GIFs but more substance

Bring on the STFU and GTFO until I post more :)

I wonder how many accounts has he burned through now. His latest must be fdr2012.

His latest is Mr Perfect. Fdr2012 is Nomorethrees IMO.

EDIT. You've found out anyway.

I think it has to do with the Melo trade and then Linsanity demise killing off alot of the members posting.

Return to New York Knicks
