The Zack Greinke circus must stop

Post#1 » by Quake Griffin » Wed Nov 28, 2012 4:24 pm

and I say this because I think my dodgers are gonna sign the guy.

he's nowhere near as good as the numbers that the rumors are flying out.
being the best FA on the market does not mean ur a 7 year/ over CCs 161 number type of guy.

Olney just made a blog on ESPN saying that this deal is more than likely gonna make Kershaw the 1st 200 M pitcher

I agree. I'm not a Grienke fan at all. He's talented sure, but he's a headcase and just screams playoff choker to me with his anxiety issues. But you know how economics works with supply and demand. The demand for starting pitching is always very high and there just isn't much supply outside Grienke.

It's gonna suck for my Nats when Strasburg hits FA. He could break $200 Mil!

I'm a fan of Greinke, but he is not the best pitcher in the game and he does not deserve what he'll end up with this offseason.

You guys can take him. I'd rather the Angels spend that type of money on 2 or 3 starters.

Santana is awful, Haren is breaking down physically and after Jered we got CJ Wilson. The offseason is far from over.

It's ridiculous that he might become the highest paid righty ever. What has he done that he should be paid more than guys like Matt Cain and Roy Halladay?

Word. LA seems like the worst place for him to be with his kind of problems.

Actually made it to free agency where every team can bid for his services. Seems pretty obvious.

Greinke has really good peipheral stats compared to his basics. 3.16 FIP compared to his 3.48 ERA, showing he's been awfully unlucky.

u must not have watched santana and haren this season.

anyway, as an angels fan im not even following the greinke talks all that closely from the angels pov, focused on what they can get elsewhere. ryan madson is a nice start.

angels are overreacting on both.
especially Haren...smh...he's been a model of consistency his entire career...he was obviously battling injury this year.

he's only 32.

To the previous post.
Zack does have good peripherals....has played with some crap defenses mostly....good pitcher....still not buying him getting this money based on being the top FA....a cole hamels deal?...lolzwat

I'd much rather have Haren on a short incentive contract than spend big bucks on Greinke.

You sound unfamiliar with the one trick pony Walden who can't even throw his trick for strikes.

no biggie on Walden.
that part makes sense....2 pitch guy who can't throw strikes...i got his rap sheet.

why would you bail on a guy for declining health and pick up a guy with declining health and velocity?
even if he is cheaper, that makes 0 sense.

sweet jesus just thinking about Hanson's shoulder....and then his delivery makes me wanna put my arm in a sling.

It makes sense because we need starters.

Speaking of stressful deliveries..
