Cousins/Gallinari for Duncan/Dragic

Post#1 » by F1uxCapacit0r » Fri Nov 30, 2012 8:21 pm

This is a standard league 9 cats, 12 teams. I am currently trying to shift around some assets. Keeper league as well. Should I offer my Cousins/Gallinari for his Duncan/Dragic? Who wins? should draft picks be involved?

I would also like to know if my team is better now, or if I should have stuck with how I drafted. I am currently in 5th place, smashing the second place team in our current match up. My strategy is flopping FG% and TO's

Last thing to add is that even though I only have 2 PG's I am second in total assists in the league due to an inactive player having 6 PG's

My current team is
PG
Lowry
Holiday

SG/SF
J.R. Smith
Kevin Martin
MWP
Gallinari
Durant

PF/C
Parsons
Pekovic
Kaman
Brook Lopez
Nene
Cousins

My team directly after the draft was this...

PG
Russell Westbrook
Jrue Holiday
Damian Lillard

SG/SF
T Evans
Hayward
Gallinari
Gay

PF/C
Cousins
Gortat
Kaman
Pekovic
Asik

So the moves I did so far...

1. Dropped Asik for R. Lopez before season started (wow bad call)
2. Traded T. Evans and a 6th pick for Kevin Martin and a 3rd pick (Happy with this trade)
3. Traded Lilliard, Westbrook, Gortat, Gay for Lowry, Durant, Brook Lopez, J.J. Barea (fair trade)
4. Dropped Lopez for Parsons (solid FA pick up)
5. Dropped J.J. for Nene (needed another big man
6. Dropped Hayward for MWP (Hayward is back on the bench, MWP is producing this year)

How many keepers? If this was a regular league, then whoever gets Duncan would be the winning side. However, keep in mind that Duncan's PT will drop during playoff, so it also depends on when your playoff starts. If you want to win this year, go with Duncan, down the road, probably Cousins' side.

I understand that Duncan is ranked way better than cousins, But if you ignore FG% and TO's since I am flopping those anyway is there production that different? comparable in pts rebs ast Cousins way better in steals Duncan way better in blocks. Duncan will play less as the year goes, Cousins will play more

Gallo has an all time low value, eventually he will get his stroke, Dragic is what he is which is a solid PG who produces across the board.

Since it is a keeper league it seems like a win now vs win next year kind of trade. With that in mind is it fair

Just because you're tanking them doesn't mean they don't matter to, say, your competitors. They should still have to pay a price for those categories, even if they don't mean anything to you.

And Dragic is young, in his prime and in a great situation. IMO he's a > long-term bet than Cousins in fantasy. Gallo v Duncan is about equal.

It's easy to overrate the long-term. Two years ago Duncan would've been thought of as a terrible bet in keepers, right? Yet he's still going strong.
