However, he is much better in both FT% and 3 point %, his steals are almost double of last season, blocks are up, turnovers are down, as are personal fouls. All while his minutes are down. Sure doesn't sound like a guy in "rapid decline" to me. Also his usage is down.

Then when you look at his starting stats, he is 14.5/8.1. "Rapid decline"? I don't see why it would be his fault that the dumb coach took the wrong guy out of the starting lineup.

Sample size, my friend. You're using stats from <15 games; I'm using stats from 3 seasons.

Would you have had less of a disagreement if I called it a "less than rapid" decline  ?

But many of his stats aren't declining this season. He is still one of the top IQ guys on our team, and plays with heart. His starting stats crush Beasley's, yet our genius coach keeps Beas in, and demotes Scola.

I have no disagreement with your opinion. :D It's your opinion. For less than $5 million, he is worth his money, even if some of his stats (3-4 out of 12) are slowly declining with age.

And didn't you include this year in your stats to show this "rapid decline", but I can't?

Actually none of the stats I included are from this season. He is playing pretty well this year; one of the few bright spots, although his defense has been typically shoddy.

Again, it's not unreasonable that he's slowing down. He's 32, and Nash is the only guy I know who got better as he got deeper into his 30s(until he started his decline, of course...)

I'm fine with saying he is on a slow decline, which could increase in speed if stuck on the bench, while guys playing worse than he, are still starting. :D

But what is the pointed saying that, the whole team seems on the decline, but we do have a poor coach, so it's understandable.

I think we should trade Dudley for Jordan Crawford or MarShon Brooks. Both guys have a ton of potential and aren't starting on their teams right now.

Marshon Brooks has 7'1 wingspan... This guy can be a menace around passing lanes...
Offensively he is already pretty good but need to continue to improve.

I'd trade Dudley for him yesterday...

He isn't a head case either... Simple stuck behind Joe Johnson etc.

Jordan Crawford...imo he isn't very good. I'd take a flyer on Brooks if he's available. Anything to try and fill the gaping hole at SG. The thing with Brooks though is that he's already 23 so he might have reached his potential already.

The last thing we need is another offensive minded player who plays literally no defense. Both Crawford and Brooks are that type of player.

Jordan Crawford really isn't that bad. If anything, he can be a good scorer for us. Something that we desperately need.

And who cares if Brooks and Crawford don't play defense. Their both young and may learn to play more D as we go along. Not every player coming out of the draft is gonna be good at D right away. It takes time. Even the great LeBron James was a horrible defender when he first came into this league.

Alec Burks is another guy I think that we may be able to get our hands on by dangling Marshall/Dudley.

Of course we need scorers but we have them, and they failed. If we could start from scratch I entirely agree Brooks or Crawford would be great targets. However Brown and Beas are smelly defenders and must be given minutes to hide the embarrassment of the poor decision making by the Suns' front office.

"Not every player coming out of the draft is gonna be good at D right away. It takes time." was the reason Beas was a number 2 pick. The same can be said for almost everyone else on the team. The Suns can't just 'hope' their starters pick it up on D, there are already way too many deficiencies. Unless of course you think recruiting one of the two can push the Suns' PPG to 105 haha.

PS. I'm very pessimistic here. I wouldn't be disappointed if we did go after one of the two, our defense really cant be any worse than this.

Suns do not have a dynamic SG who can create shots...

Brown is a chucker or a cherry picker...
Beasley loves his mid range, so does Scola and Morris.

Dragic can penerate but doesn't have the size to finish at the rim at traffic nor the attacking game (aka Wade, Rose etc)
So technically the Suns doesn't have a pure scorer or a skilled scorer..

Brooks can get a shot up in traffic and slash also...

Please please please don't be true. Another average guard who sits behind the arc and a draft pick + Sullinger (the one position where we have promising youth).

Please no....

Avery Bradley is a MUST, if not we have to make another deal (with Orlando or Philly for example).

mmh not sure about this. Isn't Sullinger a PF as well?

So we would be trusting O'Neal's health to play center?

Not sure what I think about this.

In an epic battle of good vs. evil two worlds collide as Daniel Ray Ainge and Lance Banks square off. Melo/Lee AND a first, DO IT..., DO IT NOW screams Ainge in an enraged tone much like Arnold in the film Predator. We all know whats Blanks will demand, Bradley/Sullinger/Lee/Joseph and a first. Who Blinks first? If what Ray Allen said is true Ainge has a tendency to become impatient. There is no better point guard than Rondo for Gortat and Ainge knows this. So for Suns fans there would be no better time for a 9 game losing streak from the Celtics.

Even if it's Bradley/Sully/Pick(s)/Filler, most of the general board thinks we'd be getting robbed.

ddb wrote:I know some folks in bball ops that work directly with this type of stuff (trades, player personel, etc) I always caution my fellow posters on here that it's not always 100% accurate. But what I like to do is at least share concrete info if and when I hear it.
This Gortat stuff has already been mentioned in some Polish website which is why the last time I spoke with my buddy in bball ops I asked him if he heard anything about Gortat to Boston.

He said that there are a few teams interested in Gortat, Boston being 1 of them. He said Gortat would love to play in Boston and respects Doc, Rondo, KG, PP, JET. He wants to win and thinks Boston is the place to do that. This is info the bball ops guys have heard from fellow exec's and players.

I then asked if he heard anything about who could potentially be involved and he said Green is out. He's not getting dealt for various reasons. A. can't be dealt until Jan 15. and B. Ainge doesn't want to deal late in the season. C. contract isn't great. and D. phoenix doesn't want him. Phoenix also isn't interested in Bass. They prefer the upside and rookie contracts and Sully + Melo and they also like Bradley. He then said Lee is the only guy available who could make salaries match. So even though Phoenix doesn't love Lee they think he's tradeable moving forward. So to me it sounded like my contact was piecing things together rather then hearing an actual deal that'll be on paper.

So based on that it looks like if Gortat is indeed getting dealt then Boston is shipping out Lee, Sully, Melo and at least 1 1st round pick.

Boston will lose out on this deal if someone swoops in and agrees to take back Channing Frye as well.

ddb wrote:The same contact is who told me about KG right after the Oden/Durant draft. He told me about Marbury, Rasheed and a few others as well. BUT..... he also told me Shawn Marion was coming to Boston once and that never happened....so take it for what it's worth. It's strickly NBA Basketball operations Executives. so from a source perspective it's legit... but in terms of it actually happening??? well I think we all know more deals fall through then actually happen

I dont like it at all. No Bradley. No Melo. Yeah, Sully did play C in college but he is only 6'9, and that sh*t dont fly in the NBA! Lee? We already have Brown doing same damn thing Lee does. I understand from the post that Lee is a must to make the cash match up and we view him as the more trade-able asset ........ but still that deal is pretty bad if it what the guy is saying.
