Re: OT - 2012-13 Canadians in the NCAA (Nov 26 games added)
seems like Anthony Bennett's recurring back injury is flaring up again.
is that why NBADraft has him at 18th overall in the 2014 draft? for a guy putting up 2.3 blocks a game along with 20 and 8 on 55.6% FG% in a Tier-1 division, how could he be anything but a top 10 pick otherwise?

Just a guess, it might be because he's considered an undersized 4 in the NBA at 6'7. But I think he would be able to hold his own in the NBA better than Quincy Acy (Also 6'7).

Bennett has a much heavier build than Acy and has long ass arms. Even though he is shorter than the avg NBA PF, I don't think he will have a lot of problems adjusting.
EDIT: Look at Kenneth Faried. Stands at 6'7.5 with a 7'0" wingspan and has no problems in the post.

That's because Faried is a MANIMAL!

It will take some time for Bennett to move up. The initial perception is tweener, which his play will alleviate the concerns. Also it will help once UNLV starts playing some better competition -- like most top 25 teams they are playing mostly creampuffs right now.

Is Kabongo still not cleared to play?
Right now he's not projected to go in the lottery. If by some miracle we do somehow make the playoffs and we keep our pick we need to draft Kabongo.

Still not cleared yet. I was wanting to see how he would play this season, but the NCAA is taking their sweet time.

Bennett should come out. It is a weak draft and he might go high if he puts together a good season.
As for Kabongo, who knows.

Another spectacular game from Nik Stauskas for Michigan. 22 pts on 8-15 including 4-5 on threes.
A good article on him from Detroit News

Stauskas started honing his shooting reputation at St. Mark's in Southborough, Mass., but his roots go back to his native Canada, in Mississauga, Ontario.
There, he says, he perfected his jump shot.
"My backyard — just shooting and practice," Stauskas said. "I've probably taken a million shots in my life. That's pretty much all I did when I was a kid, just go outside and shoot, so it's something I'm very confident doing."
That alone, however, didn't garner Stauskas much notice. Growing eight inches the last two years, though, helped. Plus, it didn't hurt that he averaged 32 points, 14 rebounds and 7.5 assists as a sophomore at Loyola Catholic Secondary School in Toronto.

he's doing it against decent teams, too. if he keeps it up his strong shooting for the remainder of the season, NBA teams are certainly going to have him on their radar
