that's my point...you needed starters...why would you grab a guy with a bum shoulder?
this guy was Atlanta's shining son a couple years ago...they gave him to you for Jordan Walden....this isn't troubling?

the shoulder/ declining velocity don't bother u? and if not why?

there were better moves out there imo...but watever.

I think you're looking too much into this trade. Walden is an unproven, hard-throwing middle reliever with injury concerns of his own. Hanson, who won 13 games last season, became expendable because of injury concerns, but most importantly because ATL has a couple of top SP prospects ready to join the rotation. This trade benefits both teams and the Angels can afford to take a $3.5 mill gamble on the SoCal native.

Again, this offseason is far from over and I expect the Angels to be one of the most busy teams this offseason with all that freed payroll.

I'm not looking that into it.

1. you guys needed the pitching.
2. if you need pitching, wouldn't it be awesome to get a dependable guy as opposed to an injured one.

just my thoughts on the deal.
you'll probably sign two more guys.

and I'm just being honest here...neither of them will be greinke...He'll come to the National League.
pitchers like playing real baseball
hopefully u guys don't run up the price on us too bad.

greinke to the dodgers

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal

Source confirms: Greinke 6 years, $147M. His $24.5M average would be highest in history for a pitcher, surpassing CC Sabathia's $24.4M.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal

Greinke opt-out after 3 years, as reported by @JimBowdenESPNxm, creates possibility of even bigger deal ahead (a la Sabathia). We’ll see.

thats a heck of a lot of money.

how?
you ruin it for the rest of baseball.

u think this is good for the Mariners trying to extend King Felix?
simple: "oh, u don't think I'm worth greinke money"???

strassburg and the nats?

this is why i hate the angels....their annoying existence is predicated on dumping on the team with a greater history even though they haven't won in 24 years.
foh.

• Adrian Gonzalez is owed $127 million through 2018.
• Carl Crawford is due $102.5 million through 2017.
• Matt Kemp has $108 million coming through 2019.
• Andre Ethier is owed $85 million through 2017."

i don't like ethier's after this year.
and i don't like crawford's after this year.

they can be pawned off while we cover half...or slightly less than half when we call up Yasiel and Joc Pederson.

it's still lame to run up the tab on someone.
not everybody has an overrated flyable pitcher willing to sign for pennies....alright, he's not overrated...im just poking the bear.

Kershaw is going to get a $200 million deal next year, we'll see how he responds to that. Yes, he's a great pitcher and a CY Young candidate every year, but so was Tim Lincecum and believe me, the Giants are glad he didn't sign the line on the same deal they gave Cain last season. A-Gon was terrible for 3/4 of the year and most of his time with the Dodgers, so right now, I consider him overpaid. Hanley was actually pretty good for the Dodgers last year, so I'll agree with him being paid about what he's worth, if he plays like he did after the Dodgers got him, and not like he was with the Marlins the same year.

The rest of the other players on that list are bench players (at best), so congrats to the Dodgers for not overpaying their bench. At least, not yet.

Mark Ellis?...i get what he's done in his career....but that glove...the bat is decent...psh...if he's a bench player, I love him...keep starting that bench player donnie....they can't all be dustin pedroia...mark's a top of the class 2B defender.

Luis Cruz's glove is a plus...bat's ok, i want him to walk more...jury is still out on him.

kershaw is gonna top out at 210...he'll get prince's number or close with 1 less year...and it will put him over 25 per.

A-Gon's numbers are fine....not a typical year for him...but fine....his glove is more than a plus....his deal is better than Vottos (lol, how long is this dude signed?)...better than Albert's and better than Tex's....he's paid just fine

anybody else?
beckett...currently...ill give u him...even though i think he'll be ok for us with the change of scenery...actually, he pitched just fine for us.
greinke.

Gonzalez is a great player. Definitely getting paid right. The guy had a bad year last year, and that was still an above average year.
