5 straight 3s for MT23.
Just give the ball to Thornton and get out of his way.

Yes he is,you should check out my trade on the trade board I proposed a Bledsoe/Jordan for Cousins/Brooks swap,I think it would help both teams.

Don't like it.
Bledsoe & Jordan are good pieces but not for Cousins.
If Cousins is traded to a veteran team, dude is going to blow up and become an elite C.

Yeah I agree, thats why I said that you guys need a veteran that can still play and help mentor Cousins because dude has the potential to be the 2nd best center in the NBA behind Dwight.KF10 wrote:Cashin out wrote:Inigo_Montoya wrote:Bledsoe is a baller

Playing time:
Travis Outlaw: 9 minutes
Francisco Garcia: 9 minutes
.....
James Johnson: 3 minutes
James Johnson is simply terrible.
His offense overshadows anything he does defensively.

Re: Kings vs Clippers
John Salmons says blame the players
When I entered the visitor's locker room here at Staples Center, John Salmons called me over to tell me that in whatever I write that tonight's game was the "strictly on the players, it's no the coach's fault."
I asked him to elaborate but he said that's all he wanted to say for now.
http://sulia.com/channel/sacramento-kin ... ce=twitter
Also, here is from last game against the Spurs when George Hill called out the Kings as "whiners/cryers":
Sean Cunningham @News10Sean
George Hill on Kings radio postgame show. "punish the cryers" in beating #nbakings down floor in transition. Well said. Truth hurts
It's a mess now. We are now the worst team in the Western conference. We have a group of players that clearly doesn't fit together. We have a coach that uses a magic 8-ball to choose his rotations, a GM that lost his mojo and have owners that are more cheaper than a TJ hooker.
When is this going to end??

Well, that kind of looked like a team giving up on it's coach. Too bad it really isn't all his fault. Petrie, this is still YOUR mess.

It looks like most of the players are giving up. After the lack of attendance at the Pacer game, Sleep Train looked pretty empty, this team knows it's days are numbered. Something has to change soon, but with this ownership the only thing they want to change is locations. I can't see why anyone would pay money to watch this team.

I know the Kings have been bad for 6 years now, but this is the first year where I've just given up hope and lost interest in even following the team. It's ugly to watch, and every game is predictable in the sense that the team will squander any lead they may have in the most frustrating way (unless they're playing the Lakers).

Which will eventually provide the Maloofs with a "valid" excuse on why they should be able to move.

I have to say, it's everyone's mess. I know we want to find the one thing to blame (which, if anyone, it would be ownership) but this whole organization is just a shite storm right now.
Our players have the worst collective BBIQ in the NBA. Our coach gives a valiant effort, he really does, but his rotations are horrid. Petrie has made some terrible moves with no direction or consideration of fit and chemistry.
I know it might be crazy, and I realize this could be a complete bullsh theory, but I still don't discount the possibility that the Maloofs wanted an easy way out of town, Major League style.

I guess it's just a mess, but I seem to recall some people around here this summer kind of suggesting that this team might look pretty much like this.

Sketchy BBIQ on a team with young players on it isn't the problem, that's par for the course, it's spending your cap to fill in gaps and not filling them in with what you needed in the first place. This is a team full of iso scorers, just like last year, looking just like last year. This is a coach who thought the offense was just fine and dandy, it wasn't, isn't, and won't be until they:
a) Define their "core". No more "We don't have that guy who commands shots...." crap from coach Smart. Every team designates a player like that and puts together a system to make sure they get good shots, spacing, etc.
b) Petrie picks a direction. Are you stocking up on young talent? Or picking the best of that bunch and building a real team around them? This is where drafting a Thomas Robinson and re-signing a Jason Thompson comes back to bite you. You had multiple options in the draft and FA to fill those needs and he instead tried to have his cake and eat it too. TRob and JT are solid players but still don't fill that hole next to Cousins and are production players. It's why JT has such wild swings in production, some nights it's there, other nights it's not. TRob has talent but you can't stuff two top 10 picks on the bench as 4th options at their positions. Just plain stupid.
c) Figure out how you should play to maximize the abilities of your best players. Right now that means Demarcus Cousins, Tyreke Evans, and Marcus Thornton. No more running multiple iso's for Chuck Hayes, Aaron Brooks, Jason Thompson, John Salmsons, Jimmer Fredette, etc. in every game. They need to be the ROLE players and if they can't cut the mustard cut the fat before their value is too low. Run at least 3-4 consistent plays based around your best players, that's what most teams do. Now, this goes hand in hand with system and personnel and that means Petrie and whatever coach this team has in the future play the biggest part of all in that.

Not saying I don't agree with you (I believe this is on Petrie too...by a mile) but Smart plays a huge part of why they stink so far.
Describe me what is Smart's offense? "You don't know? Congratulations! You are a winner! Everyone in Sacramento doesn't knows either!"
My best description would be:
"A bunch of players standing around, and AT BEST, would pass the ball around to more than 2 teammates before attempting a difficult shot"
Like I said with the other thread, the lack of consistent offensive sets is eye opening.
When was the last time you see a good screen set by a big for the guard to make the play more easier? When was the last time when a P&R was played? When was the last time the ball was touched by more than two players in succession possessions?
Our players are set to fail by Smart. And this compounds the issue by X10 if our players are ISO-based players. Which they are. In this part of the issue, Petrie is 100% in fault here.
During the offseason, I remember Petrie said something like "expect a lot of changes soon" inferring that he is going to add some sort of game changing player to the roster. Couple of days later, we got James frkin Johnson. Several weeks later, he signed Aaron Brooks. As if this team needs another mouth to feed, offensively. I seriously believe he lost it. I don't care how money strapped the Maloofs are, if Petrie didn't bother to fix the SF dilemma, a needed floor spacer i.e. Dorrel Wright (which he was available practically for FREE), I doubt he is going to fix the current mess now.
That said, my biggest fear is when Petrie trades a guy like Cousins and/or Tyreke for pennies on the dollar. Now that, would really push my buttons and question my loyalties as a Kings fan.

Smart isn't left off the hook but in a chicken or the egg kind of way my problem is with the man that decided he was the coach to go with for a period of time beyond this season when they really didn't look all that great to end last year anyway. If Smart is a lame duck so what? Might light a fire but he just wasted more of the Maloofs money...wait a minute...maybe that isn't so bad after all.

Re: Kings vs Clippers
Its about time to face the music with Petrie. He put together this Frankenstein roster full of me-first chuckers and flawed roleplayers. Blow it up, the only players worth keeping are Tyreke, Cousins, JT and Robinson. Rebuild the entire backcourt and wings. BBall IQ needs to be a priority.
