Defense, man.

I don't get why Corbin has such a thing for playing the higher scorers the most minutes when all of them also happen to be our worst defenders. It's like he doesn't get that

A) Good defense gives you a higher margin of error on offense
and
B) Good defense can lead to the fastbreak offense he wants so much

There's a reason why Favors has the highest +/- on the team so far, and it isn't his offense.

I'm more convinced than ever that Ty really has no clue what he's doing. It's like he doesn't realize that preventing points is the same as scoring points.

I think he should play more SF. He looks so good at SF, and we seem to play better when he plays the 3. Ofcourse tonight we were short handed and it wouldn't have worked very well, but Jefferson and Favors must start, and Millsap to me is a better SF than Marvin Williams on an average night.

I think we have 2-3 guys better at playing SF than Millsap.

It is not Millsap, Ty must go.

After a nice match from Kanter, and with Favors absence, Kanter must be given much more minutes. Well he was not.

Then writing down Millsap must go, Big Al must go, does not make any sense, because they may even be better if their minutes are cut.

It is not that Bilg Al or Milsap one of them must go. Of course Utah cannot continue with both of them next year or even this year, but the real problem is with Ty.

Corbin needs to go, period...... Millsap is perfectly fine ccoming off the bench....... Except that he doesn't want to come off the bench........ Hence why he's got to go as well........

Millsap is having a really down year, which is odd because it's a contract season. He is settling for terrible shots and his quickness doesn't seem to be all there. It doesn't help him that he has to share the paint with Al Jefferson, but it's never bothered him this badly in the past.

I wonder if he's injured and not telling anyone.

Maybe it's as simple as teams having figured out how to defend him.......

Does it matter what it is? The fact is he's been poor and Corbin has stuck with him. Can't really blame Millsap for being what he is; I just don't get why Corbin sees him as untouchable.

(of course now that Favors is injured arguing over who should start is moot)

Once again, who said corbin feels he has much choice but to play Millsap major minutes. He's trying to keep him job. If the FO wanted other guys to be played more then they could put their foot down or just trade millsap but they oviously haven't done either so why blame corbin?

Remember KOC choose this win now direction, not corbin.

I largely agree with this, in fact that's the explanation I offered earlier this season: that while Corbin was sacrificing development of young platers at least you could argue that he was putting the best players on the floor and you shouldn't expect a coach to make decisions for the longterm -- that's the Front Office's job. But with how Millsap has been playing that line of reasoning no longer works. Now it just feels like incompetence from the coaching staff.

Or the Millers. It'll be interesting to see how this decision looks in five years. Will the Jazz be a perennial playoff team or will we be in the midst of a TRUE rebuild?

It is hard to bench a guy like Sap. He has been a stud and has made up for his lack of size with heart but I have to tell you that I don't see the heart anymore. I think he has reached that point where he feels entitled. Gone are the days where he went out there to prove he belongs. He knows he belongs and he has lost that edge.

Corbin needs to bring out that edge in Millsap again... by benching him.
