Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLVIII"Preseason"Ed.)
KOQ Showed me something, in every opportunity he's had this year he has played pretty well, he just has to bulk up a bit and he could be a very good NBA defender, he knows how to finish at the rim, and can even knock down the mid range jumper. definitely want to see more he could highly influence how the magic draft this summer
If Vucci can build on this game tonight then our frontcourt is pretty solid moving forward, if we can have two good drafts before the summer of 14 when we get all of ourcapspace we could build something special here.
Clearly we will need a PG of the future and a scoring 2/3 as well as more athleticism as a team hopefully we can use our TPE to accumulate 1st round picks

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I found this funny as hell via Bucher
Summation of how the Magic pulled off their 113-103 upset of the Lakers Sunday night
The Magic, in the first quarter: "Hey, listen, we really suck. There's no need for you guys to guard us or play hard tonight."
Lakers: "Cool. We kind of suspected that. We don't even recognize half the names on your roster. We're not into working any harder than we have to right now, anyway."
Magic, in the fourth quarter: "Heh, heh, heh."

Would they ask for Vucevic in the trade? Would you comply if it meant getting Lamb and the TOR pick? Vuc/Redick/Davis for the package?
I've been saying for a while now, Vuc has tremendous potential to be a top ten or better center. No way I trade him. I believe Hennigan saw him as a key piece in the D12 trade.

I agree with this. Vucevic has crazy good potential. If he plays more aggressively (like he did in that 4th Quarter against Dwight), gets stronger by adding 15lbs, improves his overall game, and gets good coaching/experience... he can be scary good at Center. He's young, tall, and gifted. Keep him.

VUCCI is untradeable unless the said player in return you are getting is lebron.

Vucc is almost up to a 15 PER, which imo would be good if he played around that all year, he has the tools for sure just has to get stronger. I loved how he was dunking everything last night, i feel like 17/12 is something he could do regularly in the future as he matures remember he just turned 22! he's still a very young player. You have to think mentally last night was great for his confidence

not knocking on vuc any but i feel like alot of his baskets came from plays being made by other people (reddick and meer) he was just on the right end of alot of plays especially in the 4th. Don't get me wrong i think he's going to be a good player but i think he's getting alot of undeserved credit for last night.

Positioning and being able to finish is just as important as being able to create shots for yourself. What you saw is what team basketball is all about. Vuc did exactly what he needed to do in being in the right place at the right time.

I think this was the game Vucci needed to push him to the level we want to see him playing at. I wouldn't be surprised if you see Nik playing harder and harder now after this performance. He's showed glimpses of the talent he has at his position and last was a true display.

Hopefully, BBD and Meers passion rubs off on young guys like Vuc as it is hard for some of these guys to keep focused throughout an entire game energy wise.

George Galante @GalantePR
@Orlando_Magic quick fact: When the Magic have more (or same) assists than their opponents, they are 6-2...when they don't, they are 0-8

Jameer has only played 8 games this year. I wonder if he has played those games where we have had more or same number of assists as our opponents.

Wow, I recorded ESPN First Take today thinking that they would talk about the Magic beating the Lakers last night and boy was I wrong. There were ZERO basketball topics, ZERO! They were ALL FOOTBALL! Ridiculous! No wonder why I quit watching the show.

He's played in 5 out of the 6 wins, so no doubt he's important to our team... but the two losses where we out-assisted the other team were without him (NY and BK). I think we would find a better correlation by looking at both Nelson and JJ's assists to turnovers each game.

The only ESPN TV show I really watch is Mike & Mike. I stream most replays and highlights or watch NBATV.

Re: Official Speculation Thread (Pt. XLVIII"Preseason"Ed.)
Oh yeh, a thread on the Pistons board asks if they would trade Stuckey for Afflalo.
Comparison:
Stuckey makes $8.5 mil this year and next year. So, will be an expiring next summer.
Afflalo makes $7.5 mil for (4) more years.
Now, Stuckey played SG last year and first part of this year. But, he is now playing both PG and SG logging about 20mpg at PG. His first (3) years in the league, he only played PG. It is obvious at this point to the team that he is more effective playing the Point with the ball in his hands. He is a 6'5" PG who plays decent defense.
I am more hell no especially after last night. But, I am intrigued by a smaller contract with a player who is a huge upgrade over Moore that can backup both Meer and JJ. Then, Moore could also play more SG as he looks better at that position. Interesting, but I would mainly consider it to get out of Afflalo's long term contract. But, after last night, he may get better as he gets more acclimated. Thoughts?

Yea I quit listening to Coach and Company on local radio for that reason. They were all football all the time. They would have Football Friday which would crack me up cause it was no different than any other day haha.
