In my opinion Ibaka is a much easier to replace piece than Harden.

Finding a 6th man is easier then finding a big. If there were 7 ft players that are as good as making jump shots all over the court, developing a better back to the basket game daily, blocks shots & plays defense, & doesn't need to get passes or touches every trip to be part of the game sign him up.

Harden is not a common 6th man.

He was a sixth man with ultimate efficiency and impact for the Thunder. With Harden, we didn't need Westbrook or Durant on court to build leads agains second units. Martin can score on par with Harden, but he doesn't dominate like Harden did because he doesn't have the complete skill set Harden had. Harden was much more valuable than the defensive role player that Ibaka was. Ibaka's offensive and defensive development has to go much further than is going now to make up for Harden loss in terms of impact.

Without Harden, we became much more dependant on Durant and Wetsbrook, this is never good.

Harden was an ok defensive player lets not act like he was an all world defender or anything of that nature. The reason thunder are able to be so aggressive towards steals & tight defense because serge is behind them to protect the rim. Harden did make a huge impact but there were many nights (not talking finals) where harden had little impact. On a team with kd & west almost anybody will be good just due to working hard & learning with them every day.

Harden impact is now spread out across the board which makes it easier when 1 person is off the rest of the team picks up the slack. If harden was off it put the team in a huge hole, now with martin, serge, maynor, & lately perk & thabeet points are still being scored almost even if not more this season & they are playing better defensively. Losing harden hurts the team most due to new chemistry issues but if you can just pluck a big like serge from anywhere every team would have 1. You'll find a harden before you find a serge

We just need to keep moving the ball instead of going with Durant/Westbrook iso..
Martin/Ibaka can shoot jumper and even Thabo seems to be better on it.

I think what we miss most with Harden is his ball handling but it has only been 14(?) games in, give it more time.

If Martin dominates and Westbrook/Durant has similar season to last season, it just means that our points are coming mostly from these 3.

Aubrey McClendon is broke, anyone think this has maybe a little something to do with the Thunder not paying Harden the max AND keeping Ibaka?

And I was being over reactionary thinking they were going to trade Harden.

Man I love this thread. Poetic justice to all who doubt my knowledge.

But oh yeah he's broke, not like you or me but I bet he sells his share in the Thunder before long.

realistically who you want at 6/11 in that case?

Beal or Lamb at 6.

And Perry Jones at 11. Maybe Rivers depend on what they plan on doing with Maynor.

Not a fan of Sullinger or Barnes.

Also at 28 I really like Royce White who is actually slated to go to the Thunder at draftexpress.com

That kid killed it in the tournament. But the down side, I think the kid has an issue with anxiety and doesn't like to fly. So that's a tough one. If he can figure that our he'd be a great sf/pf combo.

I'd also like to point out that I was a fan of Lamb and PJ3 both who ended up on the Thunder.

what what!!!!!

Think Presti reads my posts.

I do, I still do. Have you ever watched him play? He was dominating in the NCAA tournament last year. I also stated that the kid has an anxiety problem and if can can get that figured out he'll be a nice player unfortunately for him he hasn't worked through that yet.

Him not playing has nothing to do with the kids talent.

I also wanted him with the 28th pick. Houston liked him enough to gamble with him on the 16th pick and that's knowing full well the risk's they were taking. That's how good the kid is.

Honestly tell me the guy can't play. He probably would have gone top 10 easy if he didn't have an anxiety problem.
