even in the Tiny Tim era and q-bitch times we still had 70+

The powers that be just tried too hard to steer what was being talked about on here without realizing that the traffic and the things that made this forum different were going to take a hit. You need to have opposing opinions to have really good conversation... it can't be so one sided to the point where everyone agrees.

it's really maddening what's gone on here in the past few months. The season is nearly 20 games in, the Knicks are 2nd in the East, and I check in here about once a week at most now ... something's not right ...

I'm sorry, but to the people behind these changes : I TOLD YOU SO ... it's maddening because I brought it up to the mods that the trend of over modding and banning guys like doczaius and dk7th or effectively banning TKF is lowering the quality and traffic of the board and all I get is them explaining away why they did what they did (I should have expected it, right? these are the same types of folks who can explain away just about every questionable move the Knicks make)

TO THE MODS: you need to stop being defensive! I don't bring up these criticisms because I have personal vendettas against any of you, I bring up these criticisms because I'm someone who used to enjoy this board and now I don't. evidently quite a lot of people feel the same way. the proof is in the pudding, my friends! people aren't posting here as much!

sad thing is, I don't know how you can fix what's broken. those guys aren't coming back. best you can do is reverse the trend and hope things eventually build back up again. something exciting happening in knicksland would also probably bring back more traffic

Speak for yourself on this. Have you even seen what TKF and DK7th are spewing on the other board? It is beyond insane. All they do is bash our team and Melo. Daily. Calling us old and defending the Nuggets.

Do you want that back here?

I am glad they are gone. At least everyone here wants to talk about how to move forward instead of looking backwards at a trade that happened 2 years ago.

Shpati21 wrote:I have to bring up NYK Mentality. I thought he was harmless with his long rambling post and extreme homer attitude.

I just think he was annoying the mods (and everyone else) with his backseat modding, and it was known that he had a previously banned account (NYK State of Mind?), hence his 2nd time being waived.

Anyway, the funny parts.

Albert made a funny post about him that I read a while ago. He said something like:

"I have come to the conclusion that NYStateofMind is not just an optimist or a homer, he just believes in magic."

That was just hilarious

The ongoing build up of NYK Mentality was totally worth it for this parody of NYK Mentality made my BE86. One of the funniest things I have seen on RealGM:

:rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:
This had me laughing for days

EDIT: I do feel a little bad for NYK Mentality. He meant no harm and was ganged up be posters.

Omg this is hilarious. hahaha.

i don't even know how anyone even reads that board. it's a perfect example of why realgm limits the amount of embedded quotes in a post. it's ridiculous.

He is. Still only 27 years old. There's still time. THERE'S STILL TIME DAMNIT!

I was one of the guilty ones here. I was SURE that Lampe AKA "Magic Lampe" AKA "Light the Lampe" was going to be a huge steal with that first pick of the 2nd round. Little did I know...

That was supposed to be a huge draft for us. We got Michael Sweetney with the 9th pick and Slavko Vranes (The 7'6 monster) with the 39th pick. Anyone remember Isiah's first transaction as GM? Waiving Slavko Vranes.

"speak for yourself" ... this is what you don't understand: I'm not speaking for myself. listen to what I'm saying: THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING: ACTIVITY AND TRAFFIC ON THIS BOARD ARE DOWN. it ain't just me. maybe I'm just one of the few who's even willing to talk about it. the rest are showing it through their actions: they're not coming here. maybe you like the way the board is now that the "haters" are gone ... but realgm wants your activity, not your "satisfaction"

and listen I happen to disagree with TKF on carmelo ... I think if carmelo focuses and plays right, he is a pretty great player. but, because I don't like to put strawman arguments into other people's mouths, I can respect what TKF is saying. has carmelo been a great player? has he led his teams to any great success? are there significant flaws to his game? those are legitimate criticisms of carmelo. I consider myself a carmelo supporter, but even I can admit I say a lot of "if's" ... "if carmelo can stop taking some of his bad shots," "if he can try a bit harder on defense," "if he can read doubles a bit better" ... I think he can get there, but the man's gotta go out and do it ...

Wow. Irony so thick it's too hard to leave it alone.

First of all, TKF has become his own meme around here lately, which is totally completely 100% on-topic. In fact, there's no "oral history" of this board without addressing the ideology wars of the past two seasons. Since this topic is apparently forbidden, I'll shut up I guess. But I don't understand why and I couldn't possibly disagree with the policy any stronger.

I think the traffic being down on the board is more of a product of the Knicks winning than it is moderation. With the Knicks winning there's less to complain about, less to troll about so there's less posting.

This +10000. Wasn't there a thread exactly about this a not too long ago?

Some dude basically was like "I don't post anymore because we are winning and I realize that I just used realgm to vent."

There's no scientific way to prove either theory. Either way, the "oral history" of this place should definitely include the TKF/Melo wars, the Jeremy Lin wars, and the subsequent policies to sweep it all under the rug and "move on" by making certain topics off limits.

Nah, censorship doesn't stunt interesting conversations at all. Irony much?

I am pretty sure it was discussed already but too lazy to go through it. The build up to "the decision" was crazy. People guaranteeing his signing etc.

Haven´t had time to read the whole thread, but i will leave this here, if it hasn´t been mentioned:

1. Ooand1 trying to reverse his car. And us deciding he was a girl from then on.
2. Aqua and his britney fetish
3. Me, Knicks742, hoodie, ooand1, richard hutnik and others had an off season ot thread that spanned like three versions that, unless i´m just being nostalgic, was epic.
4. Punch her in the Face.
5. Bukkake.
6. Everything krok related.
7. Bill asian´s fetish, him telling us about his blind dates, and the girl from the chinese place (or was that last one krok?)
8. Flaming Moe (from germany, right?) was a cool dude.

I don´t post much, and lurked for a looong time before registering, but i´ve had great time here. I still remember this board´s reactions when we got marbury, crawford, etc.
