I also just remember the Denver-NYK fight, and that's where I think Charmin Frye cemented his nick name forever. You know, that moment when Melo was standing over him and Frye was too shook to get up.

2. Aqua and his britney fetish
3. Me, Knicks742, hoodie, ooand1, richard hutnik and others had an off season ot thread that spanned like three versions that, unless i´m just being nostalgic, was epic.
4. Punch her in the Face.
5. Bukkake.
6. Everything krok related.
7. Bill asian´s fetish, him telling us about his blind dates, and the girl from the chinese place (or was that last one krok?)
8. Flaming Moe (from germany, right?) was a cool dude.

I don´t post much, and lurked for a looong time before registering, but i´ve had great time here. I still remember this board´s reactions when we got marbury, crawford, etc.

You basically nailed it... Krok's thread on the chinese take out girl... I laughed, I cried... Bill Bradley was always kewl... I remember him trying to get Knicks fans to go to a game in Boston with our guys, talking about we can't be ashamed of our internet lives... terrible lol... The ass threads with in-depth analysis and names.. The badonkadunk, the bubble, ironing board, etc... Bradley's blame it on rio and blind dates.. David Lee's expression when we traded for Zach Randolph on game night... Penny Hardaway... KG being the first free agent/major trade target for three years only to go to Boston...

I joined this board in '04 I think, and there was definitely a golden age right around 2006-7.. The off season threads could be better than the in season threads.. I never posted much so nobody remembers me, but this was a great idea OP...

BB had like 3-4 asian chick dating threads, and it was downright creepy, sad, and hilarious at the same time.

I don't remember that in the fight. Can you show me in a video?

How was Melo viewed on this board when he sucker punched Mardy Collins and ran from Jared Jeffries like a biatch?

That point was made by anti-Melo people here while the trade was still anticipated. A few times.

More stuff i remembered:

1. j4remi first post was in french, all weird and such
2. The Bluest with the lamest nicknames for every player. I often had no idea who he was talking about.
3. David Lee's nipples.
4. OptimusADL
5. Knicks742 coming out, and us ragging on him. He was always really cool about it, though (except when he started to bombard the ass thread)
6. The drama with the bulls board when they had our pick from the eddy curry trade
7. A dude (i can't for the life of me remember his name) that had a solid record of insider information, and would only appear like once a year with info.
8. The talking oyster.
9. Kane's huge ass post about life in general, when he was about to move to a different part of the country, and decided to riff here on life, values, family. That one was awesome.
10. Bill talking about his life. His board games, his love life.
11. Us loving the lamest players, like sofo, mardy, and such.

I love this board 8-)

I'm sure there's more stuff. How cool would it be to able to revive, or at least reread some of those threads?

Video is blurry, but at :20, Frye in front of David Lee(#42) actually gets pulled from behind and down onto the ground by Melo as he stands there for a good 3 seconds before walking away from Charmin. Not a good look for Melo but time heals all wounds as you obviously know now lol.

hahahaha, I never noticed that. Frye made the right choice though. If he got up, Melo could have nailed him with a straight. Thanks for this!

Yea, this still pisses me off till this day for some reason. I never liked seeing things like this happen, especially to the Knicks, but it never affected on opinion on Melo's skill or ability. Wounds have healed.

^ ^ ^

That fight and the responses to it were pretty funny. Knick fans were pretty unconcerned about suspensions. Our team was 9-17 after the Nuggets game. We'd been bad for a few years. We weren't overly concerned about losing Nate, Jeffries & Mardy.

The Nuggets were 13-9 and Melo had a shot at MVP that year and maybe scoring title - not sure what it looked like after 22 games.

It's hard to see on the video bat Nate threw a couple punches. The nuggets he threw punches at both stepped back and weren't hit, but that was in part what led JR to tackle nate. That wasn't out of the blue.

Melo's sucker punch on Mardy . . . now that I re-watch it, I get it, he was mad at the scrub rookie giving him a hard foul. At the time I thought it was a cheap shot, and . . . kinda was, but he was probobly mad, Mardy fouled him hard, nate threw a punch at him. He went after the source and punched Mardy.

Mardy said after the game he would never do that again. He was following Isiah's instructions.

But at the time, it was more funny watching the Nugget fans blame the Knicks, and then feel shocked at the penalties. We didn't really care that our guys faced penalties from what I remember. Jeffries also earned respect for his passion that game. We still didn't like him as a player but we liked him better as a person.
Go Knicks!! Go Mets!!

As for the Jets . . . just keep it entertaining.

Speak for yourself on this. Have you even seen what TKF and DK7th are spewing on the other board? It is beyond insane. All they do is bash our team and Melo. Daily. Calling us old and defending the Nuggets.

Do you want that back here?

I am glad they are gone. At least everyone here wants to talk about how to move forward instead of looking backwards at a trade that happened 2 years ago.

"speak for yourself" ... this is what you don't understand: I'm not speaking for myself. listen to what I'm saying: THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING: ACTIVITY AND TRAFFIC ON THIS BOARD ARE DOWN. it ain't just me. maybe I'm just one of the few who's even willing to talk about it. the rest are showing it through their actions: they're not coming here. maybe you like the way the board is now that the "haters" are gone ... but realgm wants your activity, not your "satisfaction"

and listen I happen to disagree with TKF on carmelo ... I think if carmelo focuses and plays right, he is a pretty great player. but, because I don't like to put strawman arguments into other people's mouths, I can respect what TKF is saying. has carmelo been a great player? has he led his teams to any great success? are there significant flaws to his game? those are legitimate criticisms of carmelo. I consider myself a carmelo supporter, but even I can admit I say a lot of "if's" ... "if carmelo can stop taking some of his bad shots," "if he can try a bit harder on defense," "if he can read doubles a bit better" ... I think he can get there, but the man's gotta go out and do it ...

Knickstape1214 wrote:STOP THE TALK ABOUT TKF AND RELATED THINGS.

no. This is the place we should be allowed to discuss it. Why sweep all this stuff under the rug?

What's happened in the last 2 years is an integral part to how people interact on these boards today. Gallo vs Chandler, and then TKF vs Melo were both huge issues that (imo) hurt the traffic on these boards.

cgmw wrote:Wow. Irony so thick it's too hard to leave it alone.

First of all, TKF has become his own meme around here lately, which is totally completely 100% on-topic. In fact, there's no "oral history" of this board without addressing the ideology wars of the past two seasons. Since this topic is apparently forbidden, I'll shut up I guess. But I don't understand why and I couldn't possibly disagree with the policy any stronger.

10000% agreed.

lines were drawn with Gallo vs Chandler, and ironically, we lost both players, which was part of the reason why Gallo vs Chandler englufed these boards in the first place--- we thought we'd lose 1 of the 2--- so people picked sides as to who was better to give to DEN.

Not sure if this was posted before, but the old timers here have to remember the bizzarre love for the one and only Lavor Postell.

There was one season, either in his rookie or second year, where the whole board tried to get him into the all star game by writing him in on the ballot. We had a whole crazy thread about it and even had posters from other boards coming in and contributing by the end.

I would go and vote from like 10 different computers every day, always with Postell as my write in guy. We really thought we might have made enough of an impact for at least some sort of weird NBA mention of Lavor getting so many votes. Damn, those were fun times on this board.

What game were you watching? Mardy fouls JR. Melo had nothing to do with that. He threw a disgusting sucker punch at Frye.

Every year, I log on just to give out the annual "RGM Knicks Lavor Postell Award" to the most overrated message board scrub of the pre-season. Every year people get pissed off and call me a hater.

This year, Chris Copeland edged out John Shurna in a very close vote.

Draft night tradition: "(insert pick's name ) was a mistake! We should have taken (athletic but low skilled player's name...he's likely 19).

Summer League tradition: "(Insert second round pick's name) was the steal of the draft"
