Original source for that quote is right here. Here's the relevant snippet from the link:

One small silver lining is that we have played the fewest games out of every team in the league. The average team has played 16 or 17 games. The busiest teams have played 18 games. We have played just 14 games and have just one game between now and Friday.

At least our schedule has been slow during the time period with Wall out.

I think Walls return will be a lot like Kevin Loves return. Out of no where he'll just start playing. Speaking of Love--anyone subscribe to the Ewing theory? Wolves were 5-4 w/o love and 1-4 with him...

I do. He's the best player on the court but they play often play better without him. I think Kirilenko being out is affecting the Wolves some, but IIRC they lost with Love and Kirilenko in the lineup also.

Kevin Love will need to improve his defense to become an all time great. I don't doubt he can do it.

Actually hands nailed it. When it goes in, it's smooth and there's really no hitch. When he misses, there is a slight hitch. Not perfect, but I do see progress.

Also happy to see him shooting 3s. Hopefully he'll add that back in to his game this year.

He looks like it's only a matter of time before he's playing again. Maybe sometime next week?

I'm upset because I burned claiming a player off the waiver wire just before I saw the Wall video. Somebody in fantasy league had waived Wall. I saw the video and thought like Dat, John Wall is weeks if not days away from returning.

The form on his jumper is definitely better.

I noticed that, too, nate.

The Wizards have the most games left and this roster is altogether better with Nene playing. They're going to be over .500 with Wall. I told my son the Wizards are going to win a lot of games before the season. His respectful response: "This time you've gone too far, dad. No way. The Wizards suck." :)

I think they've been through the worst of it and should bounce back pretty strong. It really depends on how many games Nene suits up. I hope Wall does not experience typical Wizards luck. When he comes back I hope and sort of expect he's going to be okay. Shutting him down a long time has been the right thing. No matter how many losses.

As for my predictions, young dude didn't believe me when I said Texax A&M would beat Alabama. Didn't believe Oregon would lose to Stanford. Really didn't believe Baylor was going to be Kansas St. I have not missed much this year. Felt good about the Skins at Dallas. Tonight, I don't even think the game will be close. Skins are going to stomp an overconfident Giants team.

It must be rough for Randy Wittman constantly being asked for updates on John Wall's recovery, particularly when he doesn't have much information to provide. After Sunday's practice, Wittman expressed his frustration with Wall's situation to reporters, as chronicled by Ben Standig (HT: Ball Don't Lie):

"Until the doctor says he's ready to go full bore. I don't know what to tell you guys," said Wittman, repeating his usual mantra about Wall - and done in good spirits despite the bummer of the situation. Clearly the coach of the 1-13 team wants his fast-breaking leader back. This time Wittman added a line for emphasis to show he's not simply deflecting.

But as hard as it has to be dealing with the media on a constant basis, it sounds like he's getting it just as bad once he gets home:

Wittman said, "I'm serious. I tell my mom, ‘I don't know.' She asks me every day, too. ‘When's John coming back?' ‘I don't know mom.' "

While I'm sure Randy appreciates his mother's concern and interest level in his job, but I get the feeling he'd rather be discussing holiday plans right now.

Frustrating how the team can't give a solid update on their best player.

Latest:

Already sidelined for more than two months, Washington Wizards point guard John Wall still is not ready to practice, let alone play, and coach Randy Wittman said Monday night he does not know when his best player will return.

Asked Monday for an idea of when Wall, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, will be available, Wittman replied, "I can't give you one. I don't know what you want me to say.

"I mean, right now, we're still progressing the way we are with his rehab. He's not been on the floor to practice. He's been on the floor to shoot some, but he's not progressed to the point that he can get out and practice. So obviously until that happens, I don't know what that timetable's going to be."

Wouldn't be surprised if he needs surgery. Something isn't adding up.

Or

Its just an injury that takes time to heal and you need to wait for it to heal. That means no hard time table.

You rest.
You don't over do it... ala Gilbert
You make progress.
You get evaluated again.

8 week is just around now. Maybe a week behind schedule. Most thought a mid Dec return was a likely time frame. He is starting to practice more. I expect we will hear more news soon. With in the week.

this is the wizards. Its all adding up. If we dont see him by Christmas, we wont see him till next season. Wizards medical staff continues to be horrible just like their front office and Ted does nothing about it

Except they handled Kevin correctly and now he is fully back.
Singleton only missed like one game.
Crawford missed one game with an ankle and now he looks fully recovered.
Livingston missed one game and now is back
They sat Pargo out in preseason when he was injured and he returned
I think Okafor had a small injured and then returned.
Nene is out there.

They seem to be doing MRI almost immediately after injuries now.

Only player you can really question is Booker who seemed to be out there only at 70% and then had another injury that he speculates was caused by over compensation for a bad hammy. But Booker always seems to be injured.

They did well with Wall from what we can see. They caught the problem early and they shut him down. Lets see how he recovers before judging.

Who knows.. I think their afraid to give any estimates, due their already documented incompetence.. They didn't even know he was injured until he went for a second opinion.. Then they said 8 weeks and that's come and went.. Medical/Training staff for the 3 bigs in DC are all jokes.. How long did it take the Skins staff to even properly diagnose Garcon's injury?? (That might of been a second opinion/private physican as well, can't remember) and don't get me started with the Caps and their magic 8ball diagnosis'.. As much money as Snyder and Leonsis have, something like medical staff is the last thing you'd think they would skimp on.. smh

Wall will be ready just in time for our annual 10 game stretch run. Ooh, boy, I'm so excited!
