I'm not sure from reading this post who won the finals and finals MVP in June of this year.

Must have been Kevin Durant.

You're clearly biased against him though, which is why *you fail* to look at his performances objectively. Many all-time greats have had stinker playoffs series (unless you're Michael Jordan).

Also, you don't win a championship in 4 games. When you consider the entire playoffs, LeBron's '11 run was surpassed only by Nowitzki's (Wade was about equal).

Kobe was bad, and Wade was unimpressive, but LeBron's embarrassing finals performance cast a shadow over both.

See response above.

The 13 playoffs haven't happened yet.

Edited to '12 playoffs.

LeBron made an early exit from the 09 playoffs, and certainly wasn't as impressive as Durant leading his team past the defending champion Mavericks, the Lakers, and the best team in the league(at that time) in the Spurs to reach the finals at the tender age of 23.

Considering that the Cavs 2nd best player in the playoffs was the mediocre Mo Williams, that's easily more impressive than Durant's run. LeBron's early exit had nothing to do with LeBron's own performance. This is a team sport.

Or would you rather that I blame Durant for not making the playoffs in '08 and '09, and being bounced from the 1st round in '10?

He's been a LeBron troll for a few years now.

I thought after LeBron took a dump on these trolls in game 6 boston and the finals they'd shut up.

Fortunately for the entertainment factor and for their master Skip Bayless, they still exist!

Yea, I don't know why some of the Durant supporters are talking down on Lebron. I guess they forgot that whole part where Lebron won Finals MVP againt their team, despite OKC having HCA and being favored to win.

And at the age you are killing lebron for losing a finals i see Durant losing in the first round shooting .350 from the field. I guess since Durant didn't make the finals though we should hurt lebron for winning 3 more series at the same age

At the same age, Lebron was dismissed in the second round. The year prior, when he did make it to the finals after fighting through the horrid competition in the eastern conference(Wizards without Caron Butler and Arenas, .500 Nets team in the Semi's, 51 win Pistons team in conference finals), he was promptly swept by the Spurs while never scoring more than 25 points in a single game. During his next finals appearance, he froze in epic fashion, continuing his streak of never scoring more than 25 in a finals game, and was ridiculed for performing more horribly than a star of his stature had in decades, if ever. Not to mention LeBron's horrible efficiency all the while.

Durant's performance in last seasons playoffs supplants anything LeBron has done in the post season outside of winning a ring.

Hmmm no.... first off lebron was CLEARLY the top player in the playoffs last year, nothing about what durant did was more impressive.
last year was Durant's 5th thus it should be compared to lebron's 6th in which he lost in 6 to the Magic where he put up 39/8/8 which is far more impressive in a loss then anything Durant has ever done.
But while we are on the topic losing in 7 to the future champion boston celtics whlie putting up 35,32 and 45 in the last 3 games is absurd to attempt to attack him on

If Lebron in cleveland had had players such as Westbrook who is a top 10 player and Harden the best player off the bench in the league and a top 5 SG not to even mention the rest of the team he would have had an immense amount of success more then Durant up until this point, at the very least the spurs series would have been closer, they probably win the finals in 08, they in the least represent the east against the lakers the next year and probably win, and they probably beat the celtics in what was his last year in cleveland. Lebron alone with basically nobody had more success up until this point.

^

And how does it make any sense whatsoever to compare 6th season LeBron to 5th season Durant?

You do realize they came into the NBA at the same age, correct?

Yeah it's real confusing, Durant had his chance to knock off Lebron and he didn't.

Don't get me wrong, I give Durant the edge right now at MVP. But the blatant disrespect is a little confusing for LeBron. Durant made a lot of progress this season. But he isn't better than Lebron. MVP front-runner? For now I give him the edge.

I don't think I have ever seen two sides say such delusional things about the other side. These arguments are the flat out definition of bias especially coming from Durant's side.

Really? Durant is better in the post? Really? Durant has better handles and is better in isolation situations? Durant outplayed Lebron in the Finals? It's not even worth a response if some of you truly think that, my recommendation is to simply get a clue.

Durant is my MVP pick right now as well, but yeah he has a long way to go to prove he's the best player in the NBA.

Anyone that agrees with these has an agenda against Lebron. You know, like JordanBulls, 28, and that Brave guy.

28 and Brave are the biggest Durant homers on the board. 28 said Durant is on track to being the GOAT by age 30

Why are some people so quick to say that Durant is a better offensive player? Durant couldn't 'run' an offense if he tried. He's better at scoring (not even that big of a difference) and FT shooting. That is where it ends.

This is the epitome of a troll post. It's both unnecessary and unproductive, and intended to inflame rather than advance the discussion.
