So frustrating. Execution down the stretch. Bad coaching. Why not keep running plays for Kevin ?

Clearly they can play when they have good line ups out there. They played them tough for 3 quarters but it is a 4 quarter game.

3 quarters? They slept through the first half and only started to pick it up midway through the 3rd qtr. Apparently, they thought they were so awesome after the Heat game they could take half the game off and just win it at the end. Line-ups weren't the issue. Lack of effort and team ball during the first 2 1/2 quarters were.

The sad thing is that as badly as Ariza had been the first few games, he gave good effort and was passing the ball well. The ball sticks with guys who only shoot, like Webster and Martin. Crawford can jack a team out of a game.

Nobody mentioned Ariza. Guess defense means something at the 3 spot. We have a lot of one-dimensional players in Webster, Martin and Okafor. I guess Okafor's dimension would be rebounding. Nene has to start at some point whenever he can play 30 minutes. Another 24 tonight.

It doesn't really matter when Wall isn't returning until 2013, Vesely can't play, Ariza is out and Booker can't get on the floor due to another injury. Obviously we can't handle a fast point guard, especially when Livingston is out there. .

Actually I thought Webster should have looked to shoot more in the first half, but agree with Crawford. Overall our defense sucked in the first half. Price and Crawford let Teague get in the paint at will and no one got back on d after a missed shot.

Go look at the scoring by quarter numbers.

Line ups were a huge issue.

Btw, as good as Seraphin was on offense. He was horrible rebounding the ball. Most of Atlanta's second chance points came at his expense.

Enough with the f-ing lineups. Starting point guard, small foward, backup power forward are out. Nene still limited. The Hawks are 11-6 for a reason. I agree that execution offensively was horrible for the most part. But you are asking Randy to make chicken salad out of Chris Singleton, Martell Webster and A.J. Price. Frustrating as hell to watch this team, but they are horrendous talent-wise.

If he put as much effort on that end as he did on the offensive end, he'd be a hell of a player. At least he can do one thing right.

Agree, there is no reason why he isn't a better rebounder. It's all about effort and focus.

The Wizards were down 54-41 at half and closed to 82-84 with Beal and Seraphin balling. I take that as the good from this game. They were still close, 92-96, with about 3 minutes left.

This team doesn't have closers. The talent is a big issue. Still, rebounds should not have ended 32-47. You hate to see DeShawn drain 5 threes.

Mixed bag tonight of good and bad. The end was bad. It would have been much better to see them lose by only 3-5 points rather to jack shots and collapse.

Lawson, Teague and Holiday were both selected in the late teens. Quality PG's can be found in just about every draft.

The team will go as the PG play goes. If Price can have a slightly above average day we'll have a scrappy shot at most teams I think. Its clear that when he's off AND singleton we'll struggle and spend way too much energy trying to come back. I appreciate that they didn't concede a blow out, but they need to stop digging themselves into early graves.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I liked the way Seraphin was being patient in the post, backing his man down to set up hit hook. So often he shoots it too quickly when he isn't in good position to shoot. When you get the defender back on his heels it is much easier to get that shot off cleany.

They lost this game on the boards. You can't let a good team outrebound you that badly.

Would it help if Wittman made KS watch hours of film on Kevin Love and Faried so that he understands how to get in rebounding position? Also, since we couldn't cover Teague going to the basket why didn't we switch to a zone?

They played 3 bigs last night for a total of 107 minutes, in which time they grabbed 38 boards. That was the game.
