I really hope Kanter/Valaciunas turns into a rivalry worth talking about. In the meantime you crazy nationalists can go nuts.

Its like saying Bargnani better than Gasol because Barg averaging 16 PPG in toronto and Gasol 12 PPG in Lakers

I disagree with that argument. When you compare a breadth of statistics in addition to points then you'd see that statistically Gasol is far more productive than Bargnani. And if you're a Raptor fan then you'd even claim that the team is better off waiving Andrea at any cost... he's responsible for far more problems than benefits.

JV is playing against starter Cs. If you followed the Raptors then you surely cannot claim that Jonas is padding stats. It wasn't until two weeks ago that our clown coach finally allowed JV to play in the 4th quarters.

Enes is built like a bull but his body is mature. JV is still several years from bulking up. Both players will improve their basketball IQs but JV has more upside. Enes has experienced one more season. You can't over infer from one good game from Enes. JV arguably outplayed Tim Duncan in that close OT matchup but its just one sample.

Here is highlights.
Kanter got his last 2pts vs Jonas - everything else was vs Bargnani, Johnson or whoever else was guarding him. You could probably add first two free throws even if it was Pietrus who fouled him - BTW that was probably first properly executed pick and roll play by Kanter in his NBA career.

Can you stop comparing Enes and JV. Both are great players. Jonas has a bigger upside because he has more to develop especially his body besides his skills but he has muuuuch more game experience than Enes has although Kanter is the Sophomore. Kanter has the advantage that the most Rookies or younger players didn't have which is his NBA-Ready Body and he should and can more focus on skills , his jumpshot clearly improved but i think he can do it better. Enes has also work on his Basketball IQ which i think will be increase when he got more minutes. For now Kanter is the marginal better player because of his body but thats something that jonas can work easily in one or two offseasons.

At the end of the day a long way to go for both and i think they will be pretty similar good and the point is they are appreciating each other you could see it at the draft 2011 , at the eurobasket and on the nba court.

I would be happy if both can have a career like the Gasols!

Enes' footwork looked much improved, looks like he has been taking some lessons from Big Al.

The surprise stat of the game. Randy Foye with 3 block shots.

The subs played great for Utah. We have a deep team. We are going to need everyone against the good teams.

Without Al seems to be a lot more of ball movement.
Kanter played like Al... black hole... still it was really nice to watch how the jazz played yesterday with 3 after 3.

One thing I've noticed about Kanter is that he seems to attempt an up-and-under on every possession in the low post -- and it seems like almost no one goes for it.
