Anyone else done with DJ?

Post#1 » by Crowman » Sat Dec 8, 2012 3:33 am

Holy hell wat a poor excuse of a basketball player he hasnt done a single damn thing all season long and quite frankly i have had enough i think its time we see what Ben Hans can do and let DJ rot on the bench because tbh thats all he deserves.

I agree, send him to the d-league to let him figure out how to play. I thought this kid was a decent player but it looks like he was just a product of opportunity in Charlotte.

What a disappointment.

I'm more disappointed with Gerald Green than Augustin.

Has he been hurt or something or is he really struggling as much as it looks? I'm frankly shocked by his lack of production since he came here. His D has always been among the worst in the league (he's like 5'10, that's probably part of it) but his offense has always been decent to solid. I expected him to take Hill's starting spot by midseason to take advantage of his excellent passing ability.

DJ has easily been the most disappointing off-season signing. Sam Young has achieved expectations, Ian Mahinmi is starting to come around and it looks like we may have gotten the better end of the deal after all with Collison struggling mightily in Dallas (although I still think they got too much when we gave up Dahntay), and Gerald Green...y'know...for what little he's in there and what he's asked to do, I'm more or less ok with him. Kinda have to be considering he signed a 3-year contract. Who knows, maybe too much was expected of him being thrown into the starting lineup in place for Danny right off the bat.

DJ - still MAJORLY waiting on him to come around. I hope it does. If it doesn't, at least he's a free agent this summer.

Augusting demoted to 3rd PG Ben Hans is getting a chance think we may have to look at free agents or trade options soon because i doubt this works.

Ben hasn't shown me enough even though DJ is looking like a bust. I'd go to a three guard rotation with Lance getting the backup minutes at point and hope that Young or Green benefit from picking up DJ's minutes. later when Danny returns, Young, Green, and DJ go to the bench and GH, PG, LS, and DG can divide up the minutes at 1, 2, and 3.

He isn't good unless you hand him starting minutes without being given anything his confidence just withers away into nothing

DJ was never good on the Bobcats either. He was a player Larry Brown wanted so much he convinced MJ to pass up Brook Lopez even though we needed a big man. He couldn't earn consistent minutes as a rookie, we basically gave him a starter spot when we let Felton go and he did nothing and then last year on the worst team in history you would think he would at least pad his stats or go all out considering he was in a contract year and we drafted a rookie PG in Kemba and he just seemed to give up and do nothing. He just doesn't play with any passion at all he's just kinda there and wants to be given his spot instead of earning it. If you were expecting anything more im sorry but you can join me on the bamboozled bandwagon

Well, according to the wiretap, it's official. B-Hans is now the backup point guard off the bench ahead of DJ. We'll see how this plays out. I wanted Sundiata Gaines over B-Hans in training camp, but I obviously am serious hoping this works out.

He's been so bad it's hard to know where to start when trying to describe it. The same can be said for Gerald Green. Pacers have less invested in Augustine than either of th other two big bench acquisitions so he's the natural one to sit first. Before too long Vogel has to do something about Green too. You can only be so bad and still stay on the floor. These two are testing the limits.

Green has not been that bad he started off poorly but he is doing okay now still i expected him to produce a little more.

btw if i have seen one major need for us now its so clear as day we need a consistent scorer if we do not go after an Anthony Morrow, Kyle korver type player in free agency heads must roll

The date to trade for that type of player (only much, much better) is coming close :)

It's going to be a DNP coach's decision well deserved. Even when the offense doesn't fit you and you barely get any useful screens, you can't just go out there almost every game and not seem to care.

Get ready for the Hansbrough Brothers to dominate the backup units in the NBA. This is a good move by Vogel. Augustin has been pretty bad all year. I have some good hopes for the Hansbrough brothers and I know for a fact that their chemistry is not an issue.

Ben Hansbrough has been even worse in my opinion in place of Augustin. Didn't even think that was possible.

But, according to Marc Stein, the Pacers may be done with DJ too, although, i am not sure what they can get for him- http://espn.go.com/nba/dailydime/_/page ... de-targets

In terms of those 108 offseason signees who become trade-eligible Saturday, at least three names are coming up repeatedly on the personnel grapevine: Indiana's D.J. Augustin, Phoenix's Michael Beasley and Boston's Courtney Lee. There's a reason for that, though: All three are seriously struggling.

Augustin for Lee? But we would still need a point guard. I doubt they'll be ok going with Lance at Hill's backup down the stretch.

DJ got some minutes last night and I didn't think he looked too bad. Or at least as bad as he's been. If George Hill went down with an injury the thought of Lance and Ben running the point is pretty scary. I don't think you trade DJ unless there's a plan to bring in another experienced backup point.

Now, I'd trade Gerald Green for Courtney Lee in a heartbeat.

Have you seen Courtney Lee play? He is no better than Green. I personally don't like Green, but he was our leading scorer last night. If we trade Green, it better not be for Lee.

I agree, plus we need size at the wing position off the bench. I respect Lee as a defender but playing him with Augustin or Ben off the bench against Miami would be a mistake.

I would love a guy like Gerald Henderson if he is actually available, I wouldnt hesitate to trade our 1st for him.

Henderson would be nice to have but he would be a rental for the rest of the season, because he is going to look to get paid after this year. So I wouldn't want to just give our first away and at the end of the year have nothing to show for it even though I like Henderson. The best deal we will get for DJ is a deal with a team that has a longer contract they want to get rid of. I would say his days in Indy are numbered.

I don't get that excited about someone having a high scoring night in a blow out. Lee has been a highly thought of player every place he's played in the league. He may not be the ideal acquisition but he at least has some feel for the game. Something Gerald Green seems to totally lack.

Return to Indiana Pacers
