Hopefully he joins us in huddles and picks up Woodys defensive schemes while hes getting ready. Ive no doubt Amare can jump right in and drop 18-22 points in his first game back. Offense doesnt concern me.

good thing too as he's had more than his share of injury

I doubt very much he will rush back and I also doubt that if he comes back on X-mas that he will be anything less than 100% ready and focused

and I love the puns!!

I am new around here..so don't take offense. Amar'e hasn't played much since he told us before LAST season that he was in the best physical shape of his life. He GREW half an inch!! LOL "PHENOEMONAL SHAPE"

Then to hear AFTER HE FACT...how he came in last season over weight and unconditioned...lol due to the lockout. So this season he wrked real hard...Dream Camp..."PHENOMEONAL CONDITON">..."Best shape of his basketball career"!! Ummm.....

seems like ive spent the better part of the last 2 years waiting for "amares return" lmao maybe it really will be better for him coming off the bench less chance of him getting hurt.... that is unless he blows out his back doing dunks in warmups or runs across any angry fire extinguishers

according to person familiar with the Knicks power forward’s thinking

journalism at its finest.

ill wait for him to tweet his updates. i honestly dont understand how reporters can have zero credibility posting a source, sell it, and not be called crooks.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.

No need for him to rush. Just need him healthy and focused, even if it means coming back as late as February.

Obviously the "source" in the OP message has little credibility. Amare is running and is apparently doing some shooting drills. We really need him back.

Why are the Knicks not giving an official update on amare's return? Why be secretive?

They are ALWAYS like this with injuries. I never really noticed it until someone pointed it out to me. Dolan is a nutsack...I mean nutjob.

See Andrew Bynum.

This week. Soon. Next month. Out indefinately.

They said 6-8 weeks. He seems on schedule by his running. WHy talk about STAT now? Then the whol team will be distracted about how he fits in even if he goes to the bench.

Dolan and the Garden are handling this fine.

Amar’e Stoudemire’s goal is to return around Christmas, with mid-December no longer a legitimate possibility, according to person familiar with the Knicks power forward’s thinking. The person said Stoudemire hasn’t begun running on the court following his surgery on Nov. 1.

The Knicks’ timetable of six-to-eight weeks from the left-knee-debridement surgery hasn’t changed. Under that time frame, the earliest he could be back is mid-December. The Knicks play the Lakers on Christmas Day.

I love the "We'll see." from the article. I am not doubting that he's trying.

Still waiting for all these posters in THIS forum who begged, pleaded, defended Amare and called all the cynics trolls to explain to me, how did Amare make the Knicks "respected" with a contract that has NON-insurable knees?

I wish Amare well. I hope he returns sooner rather than later...but I don't see him as being a major factor this season nor the rest of that contract. I'm sorry there is nothing wrong with that belief.

i doubt amare will be a major factor this season or every again for the knicks but that doesn't mean hes totally useless or makes the knicks a worse team like most people think.

right now theres a need for a big off the bench since i don't think we can really count on any of the ones we have, who knows wtf is going on with camby i doubt sheed really has that much left not to mention hes a flake and KT is just old. so amare would fit in really nicely as a consistent source for points off the bench let melo get rest during big games and not have to play 50 min like he did vs the nets
