i see no reason for him to rush this, it's not like we are struggling and desperate for him to return

Don't think he's rushing, just think he's actually ready & anxious.

I watched his entire pre-game workout. He looked incredible -- He was dunking, cutting, shooting. Not knowing the back-story, if you had told me that he would be playing in the Knicks/Nuggets game tonight, I would have believed you. He was the first Knick on the court and the last Knick off the court. He ended his session by draining 5 threes in a row from the corner. He's working his ass off to get back on the court so I hope the Knicks fans give him the reception he deserves.

Also, Shump looked great too. He was in the post at the elbow -- He'd take one dribble and one jab towards the hoop and then throw it down. Not a "barely get the ball over the rim" dunk. A legit throw down. He's getting close too.

Here are some pictures from the game:

Amare will have 10-15 minutes a night to play without Melo and Tyson and will have the offense run through him. Then, when Melo and Tyson are on the court Amare can be a stretch 4 who can (hopefully) get a few easy baskets in the low block. If we can get 25 good minutes from Amare we become a more dangerous team.

He well play at least 30

There is absolutely ZERO doubt in my mind that a healthy Amar'e is a huge improvement for this team. A huge improvement. This team has the smart and veteran savvy to work Amar'e in effortlessly. Despite our terrific record and start we gotta admit that our team is really reliant on outside shots a little too much. We can definitely use some finishes around the basket. Also after 20 games of being barely competitive on the boards I have a new appreciation for Stat's 8-9 rebounds per game.

STAT is going to bring us to another level. The good teams will start to adjust to our outside shooting but with STAT on his game that should neutralize their efforts. We are going to be ready for the playoffs this season.

baby steps with Amare, if he has a post game and has the focus to become a better defender then thats all i need from him. No need for him camping out at the 3 point line. I want him underneath attacking the glass with put backs.

Shumpert will probably come back with a better jumper. Because for a while he was only allowed to work on his shot (no cutting or quick lateral movements). Jumper should be wet. His quickness and defense is where we might see a little dip until he gets full confidence in that knee.

Either way but will be welcomed pieces...it will be like trading for 2 good rotational pieces mid year without having to give up anything in return.
