Why did this take so long?

Hoping and praying the Cowboys hire Norval.

Too late. They lost all the talent! They had a young and upcoming runningback in Michael turner. Dumped him. Had Darren sproles to go along with a fantastic punch of a speed back/power back combination. Dumped him. Antonio Cromartie, an all around player who can play offense/defense/special teams. Dumped him. Oh yeah, lets not forget SUPERBOWL MVP drew brees. Dumped him too.

Maybe they need to add phillip rivers in with those 2.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him traded/cut this offseason.

IMO they need to view this as a first step to totally cleaning house, and not bring in guys with a mandate to patch the team up for a playoff run. They have some major issues that need to be dealt with.

Theyll come roaring back ending the season with a 4 game win streak to keep Philip around another year. Never good enough to so any damage in the playoffs, but they always seem to get there somehow.

Was going to say the same thing. Can't believe they stuck around so long, Norv especially.

Strong denial coming from the Spanos clan, but IMO they floated this out there to test the waters.

Norv will get hired anywhere he wants as an OC; good teams with good OCs will fire them to hire him. AJ Smith, on the other hand, might need to find a new line of work. He is arguably the single most hated person in NFL circles. He's an arrogant, insufferable, irrational, bullying know-it-all who just isn't very good at his job.

With his experience, Turner is also a candidate to take some assistant head coach positions. I also would not be completely shocked if he was able to convince another franchise to give him a chance as a head coach. Personally, though, I think it's best for him to step down for a season or two.
