Thanks VC, the plan that I had now expanded into the Love situation lol.....

BKN
Sends oe ohnson, Lopez, MarShon, 1st rd pick
Receives K-Love, Wes Matthews, Okafor

Why?
Brooklyn's backcourt seems like the uber-passive backcourt, K-Love is fiery and seems to hate management, D-Will and K-Love in PnP is straight nasty. Also, get a decent SG who was and is still one of D-Will's good friends.

Okafor is an expiring in '14 like Hump, so he can be useful in future trades.

WAS
Sends Nene, Okafor
Receives JJ, Pekovic, Hump

Why?
WAS has been desparate to become relevant. They gave Arenas his max deal, then traded for Rashard's contract. The 2013 draft looks to be weak so tanking this season isn't that appealing. I could see them be willing to take on JJ's contract since they already have Nene's long contract.

They get rid of Nene, who really doesn't do much for them, and they receive 2 expiring deals for this year and next year. Could possibly be used to S&T for some down the road.

Plus, with Wall and Beal due for contracts in the next few years, I don't see them having a ton of cap space to spend or being an attractive place as a FA destination.

MIN
Sends K-Love, Pek
Receives Lopez, Nene

Why?
They get rid of their very good, but whiny player. Pek is a FA in the offseason anyway and there are many teams who would give him more than MIN would be willing to pay him.

They get a surging center with upside coupled with a very skilled PF. They'll be relieved that they'll receive two players who don't complain.

POR
Sends Wes Matthews
Receives MarShon

Why?
Save cap space, preparing for an all-youth movement, and get an extra first round pick to use on another player or as part of a deal in the future.

Although the POR-BKN deal can probably be done separately.

This deal falls apart at the mention of JJ being offered.

How so?

The Wizards have had a long term, overpaid contract guy on their roster for the last 6+ seasons, and even when they give one away, they acquire another one through some other deal.

I don't think it's that outlandish.

JJ isn't just a max contract, he makes $20+ million in the next 4 years. You think Wizards ownership would accept that, having just turned down the chance to get Harden because of salary?

Nah but still, I dont see any team desperate enough to want to take on JJs contract.

What aggravates me even more, is my suspicions were more or less confirmed...

If we got a pick in the 2 to 4 range(which was a virtual lock if we didn't jump to 1 if we never trade for Crash), chances are extremely likely(like lock likely if it was pick 2 or 3) we could have landed Harden on draft night for the pick, the Houston pick, Morrow and Petro, maybe Brooks.

Then we wind up with cap room to straight sign Wallace and I haven't run the #'s but probably still had enough cap to keep Bird Rights on Hump. Again still have to run the #'s, but probably wind up far enough under the tax apron to have full MLE and BAE, so we still get Evans and possibly Kidd and Tele or someone better and different then the latter.

So basically at worst we have the same team with Harden in place of JJ... :blank:

We need to start thinking about revamping this team...Maybe we can get D'Antoni to convince the Lakers to give us Gasol for Joe Johnson and Watson. They'll have Watson to run the point for Nash and Joe can play the win MWP can slide to PF.

We can then have a line up of:

PG DWIll
SG MBrooks
SF Wallace
PF Gasol
C Lopez

I think the biggest thing is getting rid of JJ and his contract and having some kind of flexibility.

Damn, having Dwill, Harding, and Wallace would have been a dream.
