Home Opener- sold out for flex tickets
I figured I'd pick up my flex pack today when low and behold I find out the home opener is sold out for flex packs. I realize that they're probably holding on to a few thousand seats in case someone purchases season seats, but is it safe to assume that the home opener is just about sold out?
We always sell out the home opener, but I can't remember it ever being sold out this quickly.
It must also mean that between season seats, flex packs and future fan pass sales, the team is approaching 1 million tickets sold in advance of December. Lets say 40,000 x 25 tickets average (season & flex packs combined).

I have a feeling the first 6 games will likely sell out.

Re: Home Opener- sold out for flex tickets
Why do you say that?
I always go to the home opener with a friend and then the first Saturday with the kids. On that first weekend we have the Red Sox coming for their only weekend series of the year; so I expect it to be really full.
The Wednesday/Thursday games I would expect would be pretty quite as it's mid week against the Indians.
Did you notice all the Red Sox and Yankee games are during the week this season except 1 series each? I'm not sure if it helps or hurts them.

I just figure the demand is a lot higher so people who don't get into the opener will go to a game over the next two nights, then after that we have the Red Sox all weekend which is always a big draw.

What are the chances to get tickets from scalpers a few hours before first pitch? Expect 50% mark up on tickets I guess.
I absolutely hate shift work, completely prevents me from being able to buy flex packs.

Re: Home Opener- sold out for flex tickets
I submitted the list of games I wanted with the Flex Pack for a Christmas gift last week, and it was on the list, so hopefully I'll be there. Also optimistically grabbed 6 games at the end of the season against a few division rivals, which hopefully will be meaningful games (for the Jays, that is).

+1
Also, for flex packs, they only release a certain number (I forget the amount off hand but above 10,000) of tickets for the home opener. Otherwise the Home Opener would probably sell out before single game tickets even go on sale.

Yeah, home opener itself isn't sold out, just the number of tickets they set aside for flex packs are. They will still sell however many single game tickets they were planning on.

Good to hear. I'm pumped! All I wanted was a reason to hope! It would be fantastic to see some excitement around Toronto like we saw in the late 80's and early 90''s. This is year one turning this city back into a winner baby!

50% mark-up is best case on opening day in a bad year, expect at least double, maybe as ridiculous as 50 bucks for the 500's.
My advice, just go the next day, or the next series even. I personally like opening day at home anyway. I want to watch all the baseball and travelling to the dome would just interrupt that.

yeah, i mean if someone had an extra ticket and asked me to go, i'd be down for sure, but i'm totally fine with watching the season opener at home. usually the home opener involves some serious emotional investment throughout the game and i need my weed fix between innings for that. would be nice to witness the new-look jays first hand at the first available opportunitity amongst a jacked up crowd, but i'm okay with going to game two and the hopefully the friday night game vs. the sox.

Bautista outplays his contract by more than $70 million over the next four seasons (2013-2016).

Re: Home Opener- sold out for flex tickets
I purchased a flex pack a couple weeks ago and like some others here have no interest in attending the home game, but I did notice that the final 2 home games against the Rays that my seats were a bit worse. I'm in section 524A or B (behind home plate in the 500s) for all my games except those 2 games which I'm in 522, just to the side.

That'd be nice. Usually the few games after the home opener are terrible for attendance.

I don't know, I think this years wasn't great, but it was a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday series. I think the year before was a weekend series and the sat, sun games had 40k+
