That was a good game. We played with great energy, moved the ball well, played pesky D and looked confident.

Kemba attacked like a champ, Hendo looked good, MKG shows glimpses of super stardom, Biz played Griffin really well IMO, Mully played inside more than outside and like man.

If BG had shot a little better and we had got a little more love from the refs when we drove who knows. Either way, that was an enjoyable game.

We looked like we belong in the NBA and full of potential.

Definite progress, but the fourth quarter offense certainly needs a lotta work. Some combination of Kemba and Dunlap has to get things settled and get good shots. Especially with the hard lessons of the Portland/Knicks losses.

A scorer on the low block would help too - nice to just dump it in and let someone go to work when you need a bucket.

did you see biyombo score on griffin in the post iso play? that was nice. Griffin is no kendrick perkins on post defense but that was still good.

I really wanted this one. Kind of bummed about the loss but I'm glad we continued to fight till the end.

Good fight by the 'Cats. The whistle just didn't blow their way because the refs left a lot of fouls in their pocket, and the ball didn't roll their way because Matt Barnes of all people decided to become a offensive threat. Otherwise, the losing team played better if you ask me

Walker, MKG, Biyombo, and MAYBE, MAYBE Mullens with a good free agent signing along with a lottery pick or two the season after next can be down right scary.

that group of guys is far from "downright scary"

lets be honest, none of those guys are star players or likely going to be star players.

To be a "downright scary" team, you need a guy (or guys) like Lebron, Durant, Rose, Paul, Westbrook, etc etc

and alot of these "scary teams" in the NBA have multiple guys who are all stars or fringe all star players

Right now, the Bobcats arent close to having 1 of those guys.

Now, if they continue adding to this young core and have them grow together, you might have yourself a playoff team. But they're going to need some luck in the draft and make 1 or 2 very solid free agent signings (no all stars are going to sign here)

I disagree. I think that MKG absolutely can be that player - and keep in mind I wasn't super high on him so I am not biased - but you can tell he has some real skill and a high BBIQ. Plus he has that drive and that motor. I think he can be a truly special player.

Kemba isn't that far off either. He just has to tweak a couple of things.

Isn't that exactly the point LP was making?

Yeah - the potential is there with him, but he's still a year or two away from being the sort of guy that when you're feeling momentum slip away with 5 minutes to go, you can just dump it into him and let him make something happen. If you do have a player like that, it makes it easier than trying to run complex offensive sets to get good shots.

Of course, Kemba is still a year or two away from having the experience/poise to be a consistent end game point guard, and MKG is a year or two away from being a confident late-game option. So this nucleus will probably all need to grow into those roles together.

there is a big difference between a playoff team and "downright scary"

the Miami Heat are "downright scary"

the Oklahoma City Thunder are "downright scary"

A team like the Utah Jazz or Chicago Bulls (without Rose) are not

that is the difference

and Kemba Walker is far from being mentioned with All Stars like a mentioned previously.... you're a homer if you say otherwise.

and I love MKG too, and think he's going to be a really good player, but its probably going to take him a good 4 to 5 years to really develop his offensive game to match the rest of his game

again, no offense, but anyone who thinks the Bobcats are going to be "downright scary" within the next few years is just an idiot.... I'd be thrilled with the #8 seed in 3 or 4 years.... anyone expecting more is just unrealistic

YOU CANT TELL PEOPLE "NO OFFENSE" AND THEN TURN AROUND AND CALL THEM "IDIOTS". THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. - fats

Anybody else found it interesting that Kemba was the only player on the team with a positive +/- stat (+5)? Anyways, good effort last night since most people wrote us off and thought it would be a blowout. I hope we can bring the same energy with a little more efficiency tonight against the Hawks. Go Cats!

For the record guys, I just pointed out that he called a group of people idiots, and that it was uncalled for. I was just cheeky about it :D
