Tucker:
-Is a former Badger and Alvarez recruit.
-Worked under Nick Saban at MSU and LSU.
-Has had great defenses wherever he's been, even without much talent at times.
-Is a young and enthusiastic leader who has all of the qualities of a fantastic recruiter.

He has great credentials along with Midwest and Florida ties.

I'm really high on Tucker, I'm just wondering if he has his sights set on getting an NFL Head Coaching job in the near future. That might prevent him from taking this job. But he would be a nice get.

My list is ...
1) petersen
2) Tucker
3) Sell the franchis3

Concerned neither of the above will be hired and they will take someone I don't like. For all the Diaco fans, do a little research on the guy, not as great of a recruiter as some would believe and has the same douchey factor as BB.

So take that for what it's worth, I guess.

Lol at guaranteeing two people...

Also don't get why Petersen would coach his bowl game if it is him.

I still wouldn't believe it is Petersen given what he's turned down in the past, but if it was, his bowl game is in 11 days so they can probably just wait it out.

What is the status of the law requiring how long the job opening has to be posted? Final applications are due December 19. I have heard some say that is an issue, others say Barry could hire a guy tomorrow if he wanted to.

That said, Petersen plays December 22. At that point, I'd just let Petersen coach his bowl game if it honestly was him.

Al Golden, a favorite of Barry Alvarez, has emerged heavily at Wisconsin. Source says Golden mulling a decision today.

Not horrible but not great either IMO.

I'm not too excited about Golden, but would love him if he brought Collins, Olsen, and Lewis III with him.

Great. Now I'm going to be thinking about how much Al Golden reminds me of Al Donnelly.

RT @SIPeteThamel: Just got word that Al Golden is flattered by Alvarez's interest but staying at Miami.

Happy we dodged this one.

If this whole Golden story is true, I think that proves that Petersen is similar to the Josh Hamilton in Brewers uniform idea -- a wet dream of fans -- if we were offering Golden, that probably means that Petersen said no a long time ago.

I don't think it was THAT unlikely. But yeah, I agree that its likely that Petersen turned us down.

If the whole Golden offer story is legit, I think we can all cross Petersen off our lists and get used to the idea of Bob Diaco being the new Badgers HC.

I won't try to be a dick about it (said while completely trying to be a dick) but I couldn't imagine Petersen coming here in the first place. I think Madison is a great coaching gig, but not any better than the ones he's already turned down and/or waiting for reportedly.

I never considered him a realistic candidate until there were legit facts and evidence suggesting that he was.
