Re: Hamilton to the Angels
I think this opens up a potential Bourjos and/or Trumbo to the Mets for Dickey deal. We'll see.
I personally love this signing. They shed salaries from Hunter, Haren, Santana, and Greinke that were all $10 mill plus. This won't hamstring the ball club at all. Hopefully he stays healthy.

I don't get it, Angels needed pitching more than they did hitting

Well now, I certainly wasn't expecting this.
The Angels now have the scariest lineup I've ever seen.

This frees up our most tradeable assets after missing out on Greinke.

Re: Hamilton to the Angels
why would getting dickey be dumb?
anyway, don't see how all three of morales/trumbo/bourjos are on the roster come opening day. one of em or possibly two are probably gone for some pitching.

The Cubs signed Sanchez like an hour before this post was made.

Re: Hamilton to the Angels
I would like for you to please justify why Anibal Sanchez would be a better get than RA Dickey.
The Angels are clearly in "win now" mode. And nothing about that mindset says sign Anibal Sanchez over a guy who has made teams look silly the last season and a half.

"The hitter can't anticipate where it's going to end up, which is my weapon. A lot of the time I don't know, either"
- Dickey.
i'll keep it short.
Dickey is Lucky and Anibal has electric stuff....i was very impressed with him in the playoffs
i'll bank on Anibal harnessing that electric stuff by year's end in that pitcher's park over Dickey's luck.

Re: Hamilton to the Angels
The Angels better win in the next 2 years or this deal is going to look pretty awful. Hamilton is not going to be the same hitter leaving Texas and his mobility is starting to decline. Years 4 and 5 on that deal could be pretty ugly in terms of value.

well isn't that beautiful thing about playing with such a crappy rule like the DH.

national league fan over here.
he can platoon the DH spot with albert every other game or something to keep the legs fresh....that's if he hasn't relapsed.

don't feel bad about it either.
he decided to use drugs...hes a grown up who made his own choices. i don't work for espn or MLB Network...i don't have to be PC or wiggle my sense of humor around his life....not my problem.
saying i can't laugh about it...is saying i can't talk about it...doesnt matter which disposition i take with viewing his circumstance...serious...playful...indifferent.
it would be different if i wished it on him....for now my laughing at it is purely highlighting the risk to the angels....at his expense.
sorry hammy.
but i don't feel bad about it.
just for the board tho...sorry.
