Yeah that buyout talk is news to my ears. Interesting that he would come out an express heavy interest in the UW gig when he knew he had that buyout in his contract... Too bad, he would have been a great hire.

Just looked somewhere else that says $1 million buyout. I have no idea anymore.

I believe Golden turned down a contract just as much as Tucker is the one not interested in us "at this time" Point: none of that means **** to me.

I read that the buyout is $750,000 for every year he has left on his contract. He's signed through 2021.

Yep. It's fun to speculate, but I'll believe it when Barry is introducing his newly-hired head coach to the press.

This is new.....just saw on the Badger board a posting came out tonight from UW looking for a new offensive coordinator......this response came from Potrykus....

Jeff Potrykus ‏@jaypo1961
Just talked to #Badgers official: job posting for off. coordinator "not authorized." Canada has not taken other job.

not authorized sounds like it is coming just should not have been made public yet. This could mean either Canada is getting a new job or perhaps they have decided on a coach who wants to bring in his own guys. What we do know it that is would be really strange to have an ad for an offensive coordinator laying around.

one more name that I would absolutely love, maybe at the top of my list...James Franklin, Vandy coach, used to coach with the Packers.

Really have no interest in Riley. He's one game over .500 in conference and is 59 years old. Would prefer a younger coach that has shown he knows at least one side of the ball strongly and can bring recruiting.

I don't think he'd be the worst guy in the world, but he wouldn't be in my top three either.

Hmmm, that would indicate they already have their head coach. They wouldn't be hiring an OC for him.

Barry is confident the HC will be announced by the end of Dec., and Boise State plays their bowl game on Dec. 22. First weekend, non-holiday day after that is Dec. 26. Peterson could want the Badgers to hold off on announcing him to see the season he started through and not adversely impact his player's performances in the bowl. You know, like Bielema should have done if he wasn't selfish.

With Mel Tucker, I wouldn't see the point in waiting. The Jags aren't playing for anything and he's a DC not a HC. He can do his job in a booth. He's not motivating and directly talking to players much, they just have to carry out his strategies.

Quick #Badgers update: all nine staff jobs will be posted by sometime Friday. Procedural/contracts expire 2/3.

I think he is an excellent coach, like him more than a lot of names, but agree with everything else you said, he is also a west coast guy, would be a very strange hire.

That dude is a giant tool. Watched moneyball and then made comments that got publicity that boiled down to him saying that he wouldn't hire an assistant until he met his wife first and saw it she was hot or not. Then after Vandys vice chancellor came down on him for it he tried to play it off like he was just trying to make a joke, but even in his explanation/apology it was clear that he pretty much believed what he had said. Meanwhile his wife is like a 7.5/10 if I'm being generous with a mouthful of teeth that barely fit in her mouth and a wide fat face. I'm not saying she's terrible looking, but if you're gonna make a comment like that you better check and make sure your wife has model qualities first. Huge douche. I would prefer Bobby Petrino, seriously...

Franklin also was one of three coaches to not vote Notre Dame #1 in the final coaches poll this year and the only coach to have them ranked lower than #2 (he had Alabama, Florida and Georgia 1 through 3). If I remember correctly, he also pulled something similar with a crazy vote in the coaches poll last year or the year before as well. I know this is probably not correct but I think it was something like voting vandy #1 overall to help their bcs seeding. Thats wrong but it was some sh*t like that anyway (I hope I'm not just totally making that up), point being he's a GIANT douchebag and is like literally the last person I would want to be the Badgers next coach... *end rant*

So apparently there have been flights into Madison from Corvallis and South Bend. One could deduce that Diaco came in for an interview, but that Corvallis plane has me excited. Mike Riley (assuming its him on the plane) would be a HUGE get. He's one of the best coaches in CFB IMO.

Canada to NC State makes little sense although he did work with Doeren for a year.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Well the Riley thing appears to be real, a reporter who covers Oregon State confirmed it, yet the AD said nobody asked him about an interview and he has heard nothing of this. How ironic would this all be when Barry went holier than though on how Arkansas didn't contact him.

No interest in Riley or Franklin. Diaco wouldn't be my first choice, but I think he's a good coach.
