^ Not sure how did he flop, if your talking about the end of the game play when he drew a foul...Melo pushed him in the neck and it was a foul either way. Wallace got fined for the little acting job at the end but it was a legal foul. I watched the Knicks a year ago and Melo does blatantly push off his man when he's annoyed.

I'm never watching a Nets game again...it seems like the games where Joe finally plays well are the games I miss. Its like he's watching the board "oh thank god Speedy's not watching this game. I can play like my normal self today without being criticized".

Alright we got bailed out BIG TIME...but as of right now, JJ has redeemed himself for his early struggles in my eyes.

Deron needs to redeem himself now.

JJ still needs to show up against contenders.

I never once doubted Joe would earn his paycheck and get his game together. He always competed on both ends despite him missing shots.

Deron on the other hand, is struggling and he refuses to pass more, defend better, rebound more. He's just coasting and I know he's banged up but at this point, that's no excuse considering he's shown up against the Knicks and every other contender. Yet, he disappears against these mediocre teams.

We didn't deserve to win tonights game. Had it been a good team (no offense Pistons fans) we would have lost by double digits.

Yes sir...I thought this game was even worse to watch than the Raps game...give credit to Joe for getting us out of that stink fest of a game in double OT...he stayed aggressive all night and between him and Wallace fought to bring that win home...Johnson definitely needs to bring against quality opponents...

Deron is becoming tough to watch...I know he banged up his leg last night and came back and he is dealing with other injuries, it has to be frustrating...I mean at one point after missing his shot he was visibly sulking for 30 seconds right into the Pistons possession...but I almost feel like he's not in shape possibly due to his injuries...

I dunno, excuses aside/injuries, his drives to the basket aren't even close, he easily looks a step slow and we all know how bad his shot have looked...Deron by far is the one Nets player, even when his passing is on and he is generating offense by moving the ball, who's game on both sides of the floor seems to be holding the Nets back...

And for those who have bashed him, calling him out in a manner that "he doesn't care", that's a bunch of bull...his teammates rally around him after each stoppage of play trying to keep his head up and he definitely looks like he is pressing and obviously becoming frustrated more and more...this has nothing to do with the want and everything to do with execution and his inability to make shots and put significant points on the board...

I'm not saying this hasn't become a head game for Deron, but we all have to remember why we have this team in Brooklyn...I can remember all those threads where everyone questioned if Deron was coming back, does he really want to be a Net, etc...on and on, over and over again...Avery in preseason had recognized that we have this team (no matter what it looks like now) because Deron came and even more so probably because Billy got the Johnson trade done...

Deron's struggles has nothing to do with him not caring and everything because he is physically not getting it done...mechanically everything looks off, he is over dribbling to compensate for a lack of speed and definitely has limited lift off his jump shot and drives to the basket...other than games where he is distributing the ball at a high level, his game is tough to watch...

Remember Brooklyn is where Deron thought he had the best chance of winning...his Nets teammates have been showing they have his back, so should the fans...

This shouldnt have been a game. 3 major issues.

1) when we got up 17, we went into 3-ball chuck mode. this isnt the first time this has happened either. it cost us in the wolves game as well. we get a large lead and its like instead of executing everyone wants to go knockout punch. 3 of the 4 possesions after we got up 17 we shot a 3 with 18+ left on the shot clock. whats worse is it was 3 different players. we should be grinding once we get up big, not freelancing

2) Brooks usage. we really cant afford to have him in the game for long stretches. ESPECIALLY once the other team starts to go on a run. He has things he can do to help us... but being in there to stop runs is not it. His ball stoping, poor shot selection, turnovers and horrific decision making just make it easy for the other team to get easy stops that lead to leak outs.... but whats worse, is his fouling. he fouls at the worst time. late in the shot clock, weak on fast breaks without making sure a shot doesnt get off....

also, he should NEVER...EVER...evereverevereverevereverever play at the same time as blatche. the collective iq of the team goes full on moron at that point.

3) horrific, unimagineable offensive sets late. its a good thing we have iso-joe late, cause otherwise its a shltshow when avery draws something up. and too many times blatche with the ball in his hand late in the clock. that puts andray in a bad spot. luckily dray bailed avery out a few times hitting tough shots. but you dont want a blatches jibby jabba dribble fade away in a 2 point game.

All the complaints about dwill - stop it. yes he played bad. but he didnt cost us to lose the lead or almost lose the game. he simply couldnt hit a shot. we were up 17 with him not hitting shots. we can win with him not hitting shots. just like we could win with JJ not hitting shots.

its about TEAM execution. thats on avery. thats on brooks, and recently thats on humphries as well.

What I find funny is this double-standard when people talk trash about other people overreacting to JJ's mainly bad play for the course of the season and then when he hits one GW these same people "overreact" and act like he's been a beast this entire time.

JJ sucked for most of the season and (ironically) it wasn't until after going back and forth with PetroNet that we started to see a bit more consistency out of him. PetroNet stressed being patient with JJ and from that point on I was more lenient in my criticisms of him.

Even in today's GT, I was talking about how glad I was to see JJ in constant attack mode in the 1st qtr.

Yet what do I hear after the game?

"This is for all of the haters who were saying stuff about him earlier" or "And people were talking about trading JJ on Twitter..."

How is an evaluation of a player's overall performance 20 games into the season worse 1 game where he's played well? The latter is much more of an overreaction in the purest sense than in the first.

As a Nets fan, it doesn't make sense for someone to want to see JJ suck. We were calling it as we say it.

At one point not too long ago, JJ had a TS% in the low 40s. Was he not playing poorly?

I'll be the first one to say that I probably was overreacting after the first 20-odd games. At the same time, let's not act like he's been LBJ the entire season.

I like the direction he seems to be heading in and I hope it stays like this. But we do need to remember that this was 1 game.

BTW JJ didn't necessarily have a super dominant game like when Kobe or Melo goes off.... but that game was significant b/c now I feel like we're going to start seeing more of the old Joe Johnson. That dude was pumped last night after hitting that shot and it was at home with the crowd behind him cheering him on. I think he will start to turn the corner from this point on and we'll see more 20 point performances out of him more regularly.

i think you misunderstood me... I wasnt trying to say the JJ was playing great up to this point, or that he has all of a sudden turned it around and this will be the norm. my point was, 3 or 4 days ago he was public enemy #1 with some people, and yestarday its was all "i knew jj would turn it around!" just call those ppl out a bit.

granted, i know, especially for nets fans, its easy to be very up and down and emotional about this team with the rollercoaster rides they have taken us on in the past.

but basically, how i view it, as long as guys are in the right spots, taking good shots, competeting on D, and playing with an overall high bbiq, eventually things should fall into place. dwill seems to be the guy people are on now. this teams chemistry can only get better. and our shooting can only get better from the backcourt.

im all for JJ being the guy to get the last shot, as historically he is good in those sitautions. so is williams however. im fine with either.

Oh ok...I knew was captaining the 'this dude sucks' bandwagon so I thought people were talking about me lol.

Yes, I should have more patience. But like you said, it's really hard when you're fans like we are and we put in as much time as we do watching the game, and we just see open shots not dropping even if it's in the beginning of the season.

I know I was at fault before. If we start to struggle early next season, I'll just turn off the TV lol.
