All of these rumors and denials reinforce my perspective that you cannot believe anything you read until a hire is made.

That's my approach now as well... Not one single piece of info during this search has been reliable. I'm just gonna hope Barry gets a guy that I approve of, and I'll believe it when he does an introductory presser with the new HC.

That's where I'm at too. I'll still be looking occasionally on Twitter for rumors but I'll take every thing with a large grain of salt unless I hear it from Barry himself.

They were extremely successful last year. I thought as soon as Doeren went to NC State that he would take Canada with him.

Unlike some here, i hope Canada ends up staying. Give him a competent QB and i think the offense will thrive so long as the line performs like a typical Wisconsin line does.

I'm really excited to see the running game next year with Gordon being the main back. The other area where the talent needs a real upgrade is WR.

Canada is already gone. He won't be the last, either.

Canada to NC State, Buh likely to Arkansas... hope we can keep Partridge and Hammock.

This state law of needing to have the job opening posted for 2 weeks before hiring really sucks. We're slowly getting gutted again, and it's only a matter of time before recruits start decommitting.

The coaching turnover the last few years has been crazy.

I don't think the state law is the issue at all. The state law only deals with "official" hires. If Alvarez had a guy, and that guy wanted those assistants back, Alvarez could certainly leak that to the assistants. In this case, any guy Barry brings in will probably want his own staff, anyway.

I agree with this. It gives me hope that Barry's got a current HC that would bring a staff along with him.

And yeah, the state law is just frustrating for the fans, mostly.

I know. :(

Partridge is a a big recruiter for us, could really hurt the upcoming class if he bolts.

RT @Andy_Staples: Arkansas will be announcing Charlie Partridge as the d-line coach tonight. Very good recruiter.

Yep. Told players last night he would be going and that he 'had no choice' (presumably because his job is potentially in limbo and Ark has more money to offer). Was waiting for it to break.

Or....my guess is that Alvie already has a coach and the coach coming in will bring his own staff. I could be wrong, just seems like the chips are falling in that direction.

Yes, possible. Not sure how likely, but none of us really know.

Ouch. Let the recruits jumping ship commence. I hope they wait until a new coach is announced before that starts happening, but I'm not counting on it.

Meanwhile, everything on the Chris Petersen front has pretty much died in the last week. Complete radio silence on that front. Nothing from Wisconsin, nothing from Boise St, nothing from Petersen.

So, what I'm saying is, be prepared for Chris Petersen to be announced as our new HC.

You should....Partridge told some of the players last night that he moved on because he had no other choice, I also saw where Partridge made comments that being here in WI was the best 5 years of his life....the only way he had no choice would be if he was told he had no choice, meaning he knew he wouldn't be retained.
