Michael Carter-Williams

I think he proves that has 1st round talent, but lottery? is he a PG in pros? Greivis Vasquez?

I believe he would stay for another year at Syracuse though, I think everybody in that team will stay and try for the Championship in 13-14.

I think he'll be picked around 13-17. Love his game.

I haven't watched him play yet, but his stats are really impressive. Can someone do a quick run down of his game?

Ive watched every Syracuse game and have been paying a lot of attention to Carter-Williams. He seems to play the game with incredible ease and has a great feel for the game. His court vision is simply amazing and its showing with him leading the country at 10.4 apg and hes got great handle with a very good first step but can be turnover prone at times. His offensive game is good but theres definitely room for improvement, he uses a floater a lot when he penetrates but its inconsistent and needs some improvement. His jumper wasnt falling early in the season but hes 5-12 from three in his last 2 games and was a great shooter in high school so im expecting results more like his last 2 games for the rest of the year. What really sticks out to me is how he can get into the lane at will(granted they havent played the greatest teams yet). On the defensive end mcw has been very good intercepting passes and when he goes after his man they have a real hard time dealing with him and most of the time results in a steal or turnover(averaging 3.6 steals per game which is third in the country). Mcw is also a very good rebounder averaging 5.6 per game. Overall I see him as a very good defender.

With all this I see no limit for where mcw lands in this draft and could easily see him going top 5 in this draft and possibly 1st with no clear cut number one this year. Hes already almost impossible to stop but if he can hit his jumper consistently, cut down on his to's and hit his floater with more consistency the sky is the limit. The only concern is hes a little old at 21 but its not to big of a deal.

Thanks, the player you just described should at least be in the top 10. A 6'5 PG who can board and play d? I like it. I'll try to catch some syracuse games.

I've thought for a while Tony Mitchell might be the niche Cavs stats pick, but MCW looks like an even better choice. His non scoring stats are incredible due to his ast, stl, reb, if the Cavs were in love with Waiters because he got assists and steals, they'll be jerking off to MCW

Another note: He definitely needs to add some weight but hes pretty strong for his weight and another plus is hes now listed at 6'6"

So Chad Ford has him at number 10 on his big board. Is that about right?

The Cavs wan't another ball dominant guard?

I think Ford is accurate with that rating but could definitely see him top 5 by midseason if he keeps this up through conference play. I would HATE it if the Cavs drafted him, hes very ball dominant and I dont think he would blend well at all with Kyrie. Hes a true point and not a combo like a lot of people try and say. Waiters is much more of a combo so he is much better with Kyrie than mcw would be.

Doesn't help his stock to get caught stealing.

Noone knows the full story accept for people who work at the store and they have refused to answer any questions on the matter so it may have just been a misunderstanding, not saying he didnt do it because theres definitely a decent chance he did steal but he wasnt arrested and the mall wasnt even informed. Seems like he was taken by the store security and either talked his way out or was given a warning. Its not that big of a deal(if true) kids make stupid decisions and hopefully he learns from it.

This photo proves security thought he stole something so they grabbed him when he left the store but again he wasnt arrested. It definitely looks like he did something wrong but you cant base everything off this photo. If mcw is 6-6 that security gaurd must be at least 6-9

Another huge game for Carter-Williams, 12 pts, 14 assists, 3 steals and 2 rebounds. In the first half he only had one assist but scored 10 points on 3-6 shooting, 1-3 from deep and 3-4 from the line. In the second half he took over with 13 assists and I think all 3 of his steals. He also almost threw down a HUGE tomahawk dunk by jumping basically over his defender.

I didn't watch Syracuse play that much last year. How was MCW's freshman year last year and how much has he improved his game from last year to this year?

He's quickly becoming my favorite prospect in this draft. 6'5-6'6 pure PG who can rebound and defend? He's a good athlete too. Players like that don't come around very often.

He only averaged around 10 mpg as a freshman due to Scoop Jardine and Dion Waiters. He showed glimpses of this last year but couldnt put it all together. It didnt help that Boeheim virtually yanked him after his first mistake every game. Heard he worked really hard over the off season and gained 10 pounds while improving his handle which was shaky last season.
