WR Coach and Recruiter Zach Azzani to Tennessee and Buh to California.

And the rumors are growing about Alvarez coming back in 2013.

Barry Alvarez said he considered coming back for 'one day.' Said he was very emotional & thought about it to try to keep the staff together.

Mel Tucker did interview on Friday and we have a week to get someone in before his unofficial deadline.

Things are going to get interesting.

Full transcript of Barry's meeting with reporters:
http://www.espnwisconsin.com/common/pag ... &is_corp=1

Some interesting stuff:

- Assistants left because they weren't guaranteed jobs here and were only given 24 hour timeframes by Bielema and Doeren to accept offers.
- Barry is mad that Bielema and Doeren put his coaches in that type of situation.
- Barry thought about coming back, even planned to do so, for a day after watching the staff get gutted. Then backed away from it.
- Isn't rushing to get a new guy because it's a dead period in recruiting anyway.
- Got turned down by a few coaches loyal to their programs.
- Still has one interview left and then will make a decision.

I read it as he didn't interview guys because of loyalty to the program and Chancellor (obviously Al Golden), but I don't believe he has made a formal offer to anyone.

I took that to mean that Barry reached out to coaches who turned him down because they were loyal to their programs/chancellor. The issue with Chryst aside (which is personal because Barry pushed him for the Pitt gig), it wouldn't make sense for Barry to make that decision for other coaches and refuse to interview them. And, you obviously aren't going to make an offer to someone who isn't interested.

I think Barry might end up coming back as coach, I think he's enjoying being back in the spotlight

RT @AdamHogeCBS: Notre Dame DC Bob Diaco just told me he has not heard from Wisconsin about its head coaching vacancy. #Badgers #Irish

Obviously 3rd party intermediaries could be at work.

doubt it, I realize we have only heard snippets of things but I don't believe Barry has interviewed a college assistant yet and doubt he will. One of the first things Barry mentioned was wanting someone with head coaching experience.

Everything I've heard today leads me to believe that Tucker is our man.

Notre Dame had a great year and a very good defense, don't get me wrong.

But.... if the refs call the goaline TD appropriately at Stanford and/or the PITT kicker hits a FG, my guess is that Diaco isn't getting the hype nor accolades that he's garnered.

A lot of that just naturally follows from the attention of being part of an undefeated team at Notre Dame.
Please reconsider your animal consumption.

I'd be shocked if it was Chris Petersen.

The exodus of Wisconsin football assistants continues, and once more the coach trimming the UW staff is a familiar face.

A source close to the UW program confirmed Monday tight ends coach Eddie Faulkner has accepted a job offer from North Carolina State coach Dave Doeren.

FootballScoop.com first reported the hiring. Faulkner is to coach tight ends, fullbacks and special teams.

Faulkner, a tailback at UW from 1996-2000, was in his first season on the UW staff.

He was the running backs coach and special teams coordinator under Doeren at Northern Illinois in 2011. Doeren has also hired away UW offensive coordinator Matt Canada.

The coaches who have accepted job offers elsewhere:

Defensive coordinator Chris Ash (Arkansas), defensive line coach Charlie Partridge (Arkansas), linebackers coach Andy Buh (California), wide receivers coach Zach Azzanni (Tennessee), Canada and Faulkner.

Sources told the Journal Sentinel Ash has decided to pursue the head-coaching vacancy.

Running backs coach Thomas Hammock has an offer to join former UW coach Bret Bielema at Arkansas.

I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.
