I'm sorry you feel that way.

i think Anibal is better than Dickey and Dickey is lucky.
The Angels more than likely don't have the funds right now to pay out an extra $10 million to hamilton.
i hate angels.
I like the Shields deal for the Royals...it was a risky move...but I like it for them...I'm sorry an inning eater who could be a #1 for a handful of teams is more valuable to me than a RF prospect and a middle of the rotation type prospect.

The signing of Josh Hamilton had nothing to do with the Dodgers.

He rolled some serious dice Saturday and signed slugging outfielder Josh Hamilton to a five-year contract for $125 million, and what did he say to The Times’ Bill Plaschke?

“The Dodgers, Merry Christmas, I personally can hardly wait to play them,” he said.

Really? Moreno has a bug about the Dodgers. I guess it’s an inferiority complex. Which is not really so much about their play on the field as their standing in the Los Angeles area, where Moreno apparently wants to badly to be considered an equal with the Dodgers.

“Think about how much fun it's going to be,” Moreno said. “Dodger fans and Angel fans get to argue about whose team is better, who's stronger, who's weaker … do you know how much fun it's going to be?”

You’d think he would be more excited about chasing down the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers, teams that finished ahead of the Angels in the AL West last season, than worrying about the Dodgers. Be more concerned about reversing declining attendance than trying to plant a flag across the county line.

Nope, he wants to arm wrestle Mark Walter. He wants headlines in the Los Angeles Times. He desperately wants to be the top baseball dog in Southern California. Wants the rest of the nation to view his Angels as the superior Los Angeles team.

I guess this Dodgers envy thing has worked how pretty well for the San Francisco Giants recently, so all the best of luck Moreno. Hope Hamilton delivers. Hope your offense rocks. Just hope if you ever personally win a World Series, you’re not seen on the podium, holding the trophy aloft and saying, “Take that, Dodgers!”

Interesting take on Artie.

Did you write that article? Sounds like a bunch of quotes taken out of context. You did write that didn't you?! What horrible propaganda.

i only wish i could write an article that good.

artie wants LA and it seems like he's putting on a full court press to get it...just my impression....im guessing you disagree with that premise.
the Angels' lineup got better in the process.
good for them....that rotation isn't beating anybody though.

it will be interesting to see how you guys solve that problem if Dickey gets this extension figured out.

Random thought.....just for the season.

CC 20 per
A-Gon 20 per.
Josh Beckett 17 per

Wiggle room used for:
Victorino - 13 per
Napoli (if he passes his Physical) - 13 per
Stephen Drew - 9 million
Dempster - 13 per
David Ross - 3 million
Koji - 4 million

lol at any of you acting like this team is clearly better just because BIG CONTRACTS got moved....and i like the deals for drew and dempster.
they're poised for another 5th place finish.
the dodgers won the deal.

Dodgers didn't win the deal. But I don't really like how the Sox spent their money this off season. A lot of mediocre players signed to big deals. Dempster is a looming disaster in the AL East and the Victorino deal still leaves me scratching my head.

wait a minute.

people can't just continue to throw a blanket over this and say the dodgers lost because of money.
we got better at every position we traded for.
the sox got rid of their talent and replaced it with nothing but patchwork to get them to the future.

you have to explain how we lost.
we are better at 1b...better at LF...and better at the back half of our rotation with Josh beckett.

saying "the dodgers lost" doesn't make it true.
you must plead facts....and i'll wait for anybody to deny anything I just stated above.

^That is true. I do think the dodgers won. Probably a win win actually. Red sox get rid of money, Dodgers upgrade at some positions.
