STRETCH FORWARDS?

Post#1 » by thegamefritz » Wed Dec 19, 2012 7:30 pm

Who are the stretch forwards in the nba now? Who can be available or possible for us? There's NO more stretch TALL PF's like Tim Thomas, Keith Van Horn (not that athletic) that can shoot the 3's, dribble, penetrate, can rebound and really athletic!
I saw Perry Jones in the pre season but no way OKC will give him

others are just plain shooters that can not defend, Dribble, can not drive and they are not athletic!

Matt Bonner
Steve Novak
Andrea Bargnani

they're C's but they're stretch
Spencer Hawes
Jason Smith
BJ Mullens

all that I mentioned are not possible for us to acquire them!

Bargs is the only available stretch forward that we can get. I'd rather stand pat than trade for him.

there's no stretch forward that can do it all anymore except maybe Dirk, everyone else is just a set shooter and some will bring rebounding to the table like Ryan Anderson but every other stretch forward out there just shoots and shoots some more, evident by what we saw from Mullens last nite.

I did not include dirk because he is the best stretch ever but even dirk is not as athletic as Tim Thomas, but obviously Dirk is the best stretch tall PF ever, I forgot Ryan Anderson, he is a beast now but still he ain't all around, he is like Keith Van Horn..

I forgot Ersan Ilyasova, more or less him as 3rd and Ryan Anderson 2nd to Dirk now even Dirk sin't playingLOL

This. Which is why I question how losing Pau and adding a Bargs or even Anderson is a net gain...

We need Milsap, but I don't think we can get him and I have my doubts that Nash-Toni would utilize him correctly if we had him.

Agree Larry Bird is an SF not a PF.. Kevin Mchale was their 4 and the Chief was @ 5.. even if Bird can Play PF, I'm a laker fan, so I don't like any player from Boston, for Christ sake, I don't even wear Green, I haven't been to boston and I don't have plans, I don't eat anything from boston or any name with boston like boston market and boston creme in DD.. but I respect Bird..

Even if I hate boston's players, again I respect tem esp. the old school but 1 player I hate to the bone is Lebron! I don't like DRose and Jordan also and I live in Chicago!

This is like trying to find an endangered species in the wild, I cannot even think of 3 "stretch forwards" that can do everything you ask in the league today.

We need to somehow get rid of Duhon's ridiculous contract along with Earl Clark. Jamison and Hill are out of the rotation for D'antoni so I see these guys as trade bait also.

Ryan Anderson would be a dream come true.

Generally, no matter what position they play, if you ask a player to be a shooter... Specifically a 3pt shooter, their defense suffers.
It's rare to find a player in any position that does both well...

I feel like Anderson is the better fit for how Pringles wants to use a PF, look at his comments about Pau expanding his game to corner 3's? Thats ridiculous, we can hate his approach to the game but he's the coach and he's gona do things his way and if we want to maximize his strategy we have to move Pau, simple as that. Unfortunately I do not think we can get Anderson directly but if Minn was interested IMO they might have assests that Hornets might be interested in.

The Twolves got assets that the Pelicans or Hornets might want? Tell me who? I can't think of any Twolves' players not named RICKY RUBIO and Kevin LOVE that they want for Anderson.

I think if we'll give Jordan Hill and Pau Gasol straight to the Hornets for Ryan Anderson, I just think they'll agree in terms of talent bec. of Jordan Hill but moneywise then I'M DREAMING!!

Troy Murphy was the prototypical stretch 4. What good was that?
