I agreed to the most of rocketsballing suggestions, plus asik needs to get his brutal blocks back, that would be very intimidating.

I've read that Asik is being coached to avoid going for the blocks in order to keep his fouls down.

yeah i wanted asik to rack up the blocks but he's been told not to jump a lot and go for blocks. i think they're too strict on that tho. last game in an inbound pass lavoy allen got the ball top of the key, asik was camped downlow to protect the rim, when he went out to lavoy he could've blocked the shot if he jumped.

maybe they'll loosen up a bit later in the season

Seriously

All of you have gone full ret@rd! ... what we win two in a row vs Melo less Knicks & a crappy 76er team without their MVP and league MIP, who happen to have lost 4 in a row. People start dreaming!?! This is rocket basketball, I expect to be fully disappointed.

We are 10-5 at home... 3-7 on the road.

15 of the next 22 games on the road, and we are arguable the worst team in the division... well we better than NO but iirc they had our number last year.
Ryan Anderson will be inducted in the All Rocket Team killer this year, and Gordon is coming back soon.

22 of next 34 on the road.

I say we finish right outside the playoffs.

Sorry have to play the role of the pessimist as Max isn't around.

Fine, fine. There may be a chance we make the playoffs and I shall remain hopeful. :wizard:

Positivity Town gets another resident!

Really tho, there is no downside to this season if we do or do not make the playoffs. I'm just so happy that this team is going in a different direction. Yeah, we may end up with the Rockets Pick (previously known as Pick 14), but this is now a very young, very exciting team. Can't wait to see what they do next.

A playoff spot is looking very possible right now.

Dare I say it, we might have a small shot at winning 45-50 games playing like this.

Since we lack a devil's advocate, we can use these guys as motivation (oh yeah, and I agree with the 4th guy):

ESPN wrote:4. Fact or Fiction: The Rockets will make the playoffs.

Cavan: Fiction. They'll be in the hunt, but there are simply too many pleasant surprises (Timberwolves, Warriors) and potential turnarounds (Lakers, Mavericks) in the middle of the Western pack for Houston -- the Association's youngest team -- to have anything better than an outside shot. Make no mistake, though: This is a team with the requisite foundational tools for success. It just might take a few years.

Chau: Fiction. The Rockets may only be a game out of the West's eighth seed, but they also currently have the second-worst conference record, losing out to New Orleans for the dubious distinction. Houston's youth and relative inexperience will hurt; so will all of the lost tiebreakers if this trend continues.

Nowell: Fiction. Pending a trade, which could very well happen, the Rockets will fall just short of the postseason. There's just not quite enough talent yet to crack the [Nos.] 5-8 logjam out West.

Pina: Faction. Judging from recent Rockets history, this team's current roster will probably look very different by March. But if everything stays nice and familiar, the Rockets are a young, talented, growing team that appears to have already found its identity (run, attack the basket, shoot lots of 3s). They're in eighth place right now, and if no significant personnel moves are made by the trade deadline, they figure to only get better.

Windhorst: Fiction. (A) Both the Mavericks and Lakers are behind them in the standings, and I expect both to pass Houston when their All-Stars get healthy; (B) the Rockets are in the bottom 10, and in some cases the bottom five, in several key defensive statistics; (C) they've played five more home games than road games and they're still below .500. Simply, all of this does not project future success.
