RGM's Top 25 Most Valuable Players - Vote for #5

Post#1 » by Trader_Joe » Thu Dec 20, 2012 5:47 pm

Real GM's TnT Board Top 25 Most Valuable Players

1. LeBron James
2. Kevin Durant
3. Kyrie Irving
4. Derrick Rose

With December 15th here, seems now is as good a time as any for our annual list of players with the most trade value. After this is done we will move on to the annual list of players with the most negative trade value.

Please vote for the player that you think currently has the most trade value and please list a nominee that should be added the voting list. Remember this is trade value, so factors such as salary/contract, age, potential, production, injuries, etc. should all be factored in to your vote.

The current nominees based upon last year's top 10:

Vote Anthony Davis

Nominate Rajon Rondo

Rubio doesn't have more value than Rondo. Rondo is the player people hope Rubio will turn out to be

I am a little shocked that a player with a big salary who is out with an ACL injury is considered the 4th most valuable trade asset. Maybe I undervalue Rose, but I think a solid team and a great coach gives him a boost.

Anyways, I am still torn on this vote. I wouldn't mind any of Westbrook, Melo, Harden or Davis to win it. I will let Davis drop a few more spots because I am not prepared to anoint him the next big thing. I gave Westbrook the edge over Melo due to salary, age, and assist numbers - and compared to Harden, RW generates significantly more offense but at the cost of efficiency (mostly due to Harden getting to the line a ton).. Salary/age are pretty darn close. I guess I still lean Westbrook though, although more often than not I find myself thinking he is overrated.

Vote: Westbrook
Nominate: Lillard

Come on, who is going to trade the current leading ROY candidate for a guy out with injury (Rubio) or a guy with reported lockerroom issues (Rondo).

Agreed on Rose. I want to see how he looks when he comes back before putting him in the top-5. On the other hand, I'm surprised Dwight Howard's stock has fallen as much as it has around here.

Vote: Anthony Davis
Nominate: Marc Gasol

Yea i dont agree with rose @ #4.

I take a healthy Westbrook over an injured Rose any time.

In my opinion every player from last year's top 25 list is just a devastating knee injury away from potentially joining the group of most negative contract in the league. Basketball is a fickle game.

anyway i pick

Melo
Rondo

Rondo because

Rondo is the player people hope Rubio will turn out to be

Rose seems a bit high to me, but I guess that's why we do these things!

Like I said, I don't think enough people are voting so the results do seem skewed.
I almost am thinking of opening up for the General Board and advertizing there.

Sorry Joe. Ill participate in this.

Vote: Melo
Nom: Rubio I think he is one of the very few bankable players in the league. I love Rondo but I think teams would give more for Rubio because he would sell tickets and expand a franchise's brand overseas.
