OT: I had a dream...

Post#1 » by TwistedLogic » Sat Dec 22, 2012 3:00 pm

that the Blue Jays make it to the ALCS and lose to the Tigers in 7 games.

This thread isn't about that. I'm making this thread to ask you guys, if my dream is some sort of premonition and it comes true, is making it to the very end of the ALCS enough to justify the offseason we've just had? Or do you feel like the Jays with the amount they've put into this team are now a "World Series or bust" type team? Or, rather, would you be happy with just making it to the playoffs for the first time in 20 years?

Post below:

a) your expectations of the 2013 season
b) how much is not enough? If the Jays win 90 games and somehow don't make the playoffs, is that enough for you, etc?

Baseball playoffs are the biggest crapshoots. I would cry man tears if we lost in the ALCS but making it there would be an indicator of success considering how hard it is to get there.

Casey: yeah I know, we needed spacing
BC: play him more (walks away)

The offseason is already justified in my view. Without hamstringing the franchise, AA put together a team that can reasonably be expected to compete for a title, and now it's out of his hands. It was a job well done.

AA seems like such a revelation in Toronto. Compared to other major sports' GMs in in Hogtown, he does the job admirably.

All this pedigree crud about Burke & Colangelo... I don't need a lawyer or MBA running my team (from a fan's perspective) - I want someone who will make slow and steady moves until a great one presents itself and then go for it.

Thank you AA for giving Toronto ACTUAL hope, and not lip service or snake oil!

95+ Wins. ALCS or better. Anything less and I'll be disappointed.

Of course my expectation is winning it all; why would I hope for 2nd best?

I had a dream that Josh Johnson had a monster year and priced himself out of the JAYS range..... Jays used that money next offseason and signed Roy Halladay

next season's rotation:

Halladay
Dickey
Morrow
Romero
Drabek/Hutch

..................................... Burhle traded after a solid year

Return to Toronto Blue Jays
