How is Saturday the leading the pro bowl voting for centers in NFC? Are all of the good centers in the AFC?

How is David Akers leading kickers and Charles Woodson leading saftey. Probowls and all star voting has always been a joke. It means nothing to get voted in.

Fan voting is always a joke, just look at the other sports.

I bet more votes get cast off kids looking at ratings in madden/nba 2k than watching games in the current season. I think its time to take voting out of fans hands.

I've got to give props to Saturday for handling this with class. It can't be easy to watch your decorated career wind down like that. Same thing with DD - who's all but disappeared from the team consciousness during the last few weeks to the point that Rodgers doesn't even mention his name when he lists off his wide receivers on TWA.

ESD should be OK for rest of THIS season. He seems to be at least a solid snapper in shotgun. As for next year he's good against run and he can improve against pass with experience. How well he picks up calling blocking assignments with audibles and handling no huddles is a key. He lacks ideal size - something that was always mentioned as a short-comming about Wells. Depending on what coaches think of VanRoten I still figure Pack to draft a C-G with 4th, maybe even 3rd.

Barclay has same profile - better aginst run - mediocre in pass protection. We have no choice but to play him this year. Next camp he HAS to be MUCH better in protecting Aaron or he won't play. He may blossom as RT or more likely move inside to G. I think Datko and of course Sherrod have more potential at OT if either can get/stay healthy.

Newhouse is merely adequate as pass blocker and less in the run game. He's smart and has OK size. Maybe he makes a jump next camp? IF not I'd like more talent at LT and would consider moving Bulaga there.

IF a promising RT prospect is there in 2nd rd Pack may take but I don't see a T taken until late rounds if at all.

I think a problem EDS may have at C is effectively executing all the reach blocking we do in the run game. He's short with short arms and isn't overly explosive. Wells had short arms, but he was very quick off of the snap.

This is exactly why he is playing and why guys like Rodgers and Saturday are high on him as a center, he has the quickness to get to the second level. We will see if that is actually true, if not that spot definitely needs to be upgraded next year.

This could all be put on hold, Barclay is sick today.

Right when it appeared the Packers had a front five set for the stretch run, they may need to resuffle again. One day after it became clear Evan Dietrich-Smith was replacing Jeff Saturday at center, the team announced that tackle Don Barclay would be questionable for Sunday's game with an illness.

Losing Barclay for a game would force the Packers to shift players around again. If he is unable to go, the Packers would likely need to swing T.J. Lang back to tackle, Dietrich-Smith back to guard and Saturday back to center.

The undrafted rookie from West Virginia has played well in three games. His quick growth alllowed the Packers to move Lang to his natural position, guard.

Here's the full injury report for Sunday:

Packers
•Out: TE Tom Crabtree (hamstring), WR Jordy Nelson (hamstring), RB James Starks (knee), DE C.J. Wilson (knee), CB Charles Woodson (collarbone)
•Questionable: RB Alex Green (concussion), G Greg Van Roten (back/illness), DE Jerel Worthy (hamstring), T Don Barclay (illness)
•Probable: WR Randall Cobb (shoulder), G T.J. Lang (concussion), QB Aaron Rodgers (ankle), C Jeff Saturday (neck/shoulder), OLB Erik Walden (ankle)

Titans
•Out: C Kevin Matthews (ankle)
•Questionable: LB Colin McCarthy (concussion), CB Ryan Mouton (hamstring), DE Scott Solomon (knee), WR Damian Williams (hamstring), WR Kendall Wright (rib)
•Probable: WR Kenny Britt (knee), QB Jake Locker (shoulder), LB Will Witherspoon (hamstring)
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Funny how a kicker way better than Crosby was just siting there in FA. Dan Carpenter on IR but would be a nice replacement for next season if the Packers dont rid Crosby soon.

Crabtree is making me rethink my position that Big Foot doesn't exist.

Very excited to see EDS get his shot at C. I think he'll do a fine job and keep the starting job going into the 2013 season. Much better C than G in our system.

Alex green has NOT been cleared from his concussion, ultra slow paint horse Ryan Grant gets the start.

I know this game simply backs it up, but Grant has looked very spry since we signed him. I would have said the same thing had I seen this post earlier. He looked very good against Bears beyond the fumble (and he's no fumbler).

Out of all the backs we've used this year, he's easily looked like the best overall package and I thought as much after the Bears game. Alex Jervey sucks and will be out of the league within a couple years, Starks is extremely limited physically in terms of his speed and explosiveness and is always hurt, and DeJuan Harris is a huge unknown.

Hell, I could see Grant having a big game in the playoffs depending on who we play. He looks as good as he has in the last 3 years or so.
