TRADES

Post#1 » by Sacballer916 » Wed Dec 19, 2012 8:19 pm

This team will go no where with this current squad. Saddly, this loosing has wen't on for the last 6 years. Who do you guys think can help turn this around? Here's what I think we will HAVE to do before the trade dealine.
Brooks and James Johnson to Toronto for Jose Calderon.
Garcia and Thornton for Rudy Gay.
IT, Hayes, Outlaw for Anderson Varejao
New lineup:
Calderon
Evans
Gay
Cousins
Varejao

I like my women loosing, no??? I kid I kid...married man.

If you can get Rudy Gay from Memphis with just Thornton and Garcia I will buy you the necessary wardrobe to be a GM. Calderon and Varejao I'll pass on anyway, but you do realize that if you feel this roster is bad why do the teams in your trade want to deal??? Memphis is winning even.

Simply put this is never going down.

We can't trade Johnson back to the Raptors until after the deadline...and Johnson will be a FA at that point.

The trade with Toronto is the only realistic one

First I have no problem trading any of our guys.

I think priority players to consider moving are Jason Thompson and Marcus Thorton.

Thorton is signed through 2014-2015 and gets over 8 mil per next year

JT is signed through 2016-2017 on a way too long of a contract...

Sad thing is I doubt any team in the league would take the JT contract for a even cheeseburger...

I'd off load either if possible.

I would throw in the towel on this season as well if GM, and not make a move for just this season, but long term strategic moves.

Pure genius!

Give away the one guy on our team who is playing consistently and up to his contract and BTW is one of only TWO GUYS that is a true seven-footer, and the one guy who can shoot consistently from the perimeter.

Good plan!

This is why people make fun of online sports posters.

If you think having JT signed till 2017 a career 10.5 ppg & 7.3 rpg

Or Thorton who is about to make $8,165,000 next year, followed by $8,697,500 the year after to shoot .409 percent, and 27.1 min per game is reasonable....

Especially considering our owners budget....

Then I have a bridge in the desert to sell ya man...

Image

check it out here thorton 49th out of 50 guards in shooting %

http://www.nba.com/statistics/player/Fi ... 1&splitDD=

and thorton 63d ranked guard 3pt %

http://www.nba.com/statistics/player/3P ... .offset=50

but go ahead pay the man....

JT is worth every bit of his contract. Just because he is a 10/8 player doesn't mean he isn't worth his contract. He is the one role player on this team that consistently plays well within his role. He does a lot of the garbage work that doesn't show up in stats, his versatility is a valuable asset, over his career he has remained healthy, and he is a career 50% fg shooter. To say we would be lucky to unload his contract is laughable IMO. I'm sure there are many teams that would love to have JT for what he gets paid. Also keep in mind behind DMC, Tyreke, Thornton, Brooks, and Salmons JT is like a 5th or 6th option. Not saying we should make him a 3rd or 4th option but he could be a 14/10 type player, he is not overpaid and brings a lot of things to the table this team needs. Until TRob can bring those things we need JT.

I would love to trade Cousins for Kevin Love. Love is not happy with Minn right now & I have read they might trade him. They might as well trade Evans & get what they can for him before the trade deadline.

JT is probably worth every bit of his contract, TO THE RIGHT TEAM. He is another in cast of production players and honestly, his defense is horrendous. He needs to be next to a Dwight Howard, not a Demarcus Cousins. Asking JT to be that presence next to Cousins isn't fair to JT's offensive talents or his defensive ones. In the end for the Kings he Kenny Thomas part 2. Even their stats are pretty similar. Contracts are similar. I like JT more because I think he can be a legit perennial 14 and 9 guy on the right team but look at this team. He's the most "consistent" player in the games where he's the focus of the offense. Now, want to gander at the record of this team when he's the focus of the offense? Yeah, good luck with that.

Don't let the numbers fool you, this team has production players on tap, and ones that need to be much higher up on the list of priorities for this franchise. Clear out a spot for JT, or stop paying a premium for a 14 and 9 offensive based player that you only allow to give you 10 and 7.

As for Thornton, huge mistake to trade this guy. You don't go fixing the issues with this team by eliminating the few problem solvers you have already. Thornton on his contract is a steal and if Tyreke doesn't stick, he's going to be one of the top 10 scoring SG's in the league for a long time.

He's playing well as of late, but we've seen it all before. He plays well when given the chance to play well, when he gets pushed back into the role that this team needs out of it's PF, he suffers. Sell high....sell high.

If JT keeps up the consistency I say you look to package JT and Evans around the deadline in order to make some sense of this.

Good God, stop overvaluing our players. We're 8-18. We've been a .200 or .300 team for the past 5 years, and JT has been here for each of those years. 10 pts 8 boards on one of the worst teams in the entire league, big whoop. People downplay good stats on bad teams all the time, yet Kings fans overvalue mediocre stats on their crappy team all the time. Disrespect these trade ideas all you want, but just know it's more asinine to argue to keep the status quo.

Is Jimmer available, what would you want for him from the Bucks? Henson, Harris, Udoh?

Good luck with that. I know Ainge pushed a Rondo for Reke a few years back but no way does Petrie trade both Cousins and Evans for Rondo. And if the concern is trading Cousins because he's a headcase you end up just trading headcase for headcase anyway.

You're really comparing Rondo's attitude to Cousins?
De nile ain't just a river in Egypt you know.

Put Rondo on this team without DMC and Reke and Rondo would kill a reporter, a fan, Smart and then two teammates. His attitude in Sac would be horrible.

Oh, you mean like going postal in the locker room and smashing a big screen? Uh, sounds pretty similar to me, locker room fits are locker room fits and the C's appear to be better at handling them and covering them up.
