Word from Marc Stein on Twitter is that Garrett Temple is the guy getting called up for Earl Barron's roster spot.

Temple had a PPA of 141 through 7 D-League games (average = 100; higher is better). He was averaging a pace-adjusted 22.0 pts, 7.5 ast, 6.9 reb and 4.1 tov per 48 minutes. He was producing 114 pts per 100 possessions at an average usage rate (20.1%). D-League average 101.4.

Mack in the D-League this season (9 games) had a PPA of 124. Mack's offensive rating (pts produced per 100 possessions) was 107. Better than average, but not a "wow" number. Mack's pace-adjusted per 48 minute averages: 22.5 pts, 8.4 ast, 5.9 reb, and 5.0 tov.

Other PGs they might have considered: Tre Kelley (PPA: 151), Courtney Fortson (145), Nick Covington (140), Walker Russell (135).

If they're looking for SF help: Travis Leslie (PPA: 195), Chris Douglas-Roberts (184).

SG help: Sadiel Rojas (230), Chris Roberts (190)

Big man help: Jarvis Varnado (200), Arinze Onuaku (194 -- freaky rebounding numbers). Not sure if these guys are available for Wizards call-ups, but their D-League numbers are good: Kevin Jones, Jon Leuer, Gary Flowers, Tyler Honeycutt.

Top rebounders with solid PPA: Onuaku, Rick Jackson, Leuer, Rodney Bartholomew, Brian Butch, Miles Plumlee, Mike Davis, Jef Adrien.

Been calling this as their probably plan since Livingston proved he wasn't going to give them anything they needed.

Actually going back to before the season this way always an option. It wasn't likely someone was going to snatch him up before the Wizards if they needed him. And he got in some good practice down in the DL which is good.

Hopefully Crawford continues to carve out a spot for himself as an NBA PG. I like him there more then SG. At least for now I do. PG gives him a better opportunity to grow him game.

So the Cousin trade is still on the blocks. If not, I wonder if they bring Cook back to add a big off the bench that can hit from outside. I wasn't surprised the picked Barron over Cook to start the year given Nene's status but I though once Nene was playing, Cook was the better fit.

I hoped Livingston worked out. I thought he had more in his tank then he did. Not a biggy. They took a chance. You have to do that in this league.

So now they have Crawford/Mach and eventually they will have Wall/Crawford/Mack lol

Same as they had last year. I only hope they realize Crawford should be the main back up. He has proven he can play the position.

Funny thing is yesterday I was going to post...hell,. if they aren't going to play Barron, they may as cut him from the roster now that Nene is playing...which was my original idea. Start the season which Barron then bring in Cook when you need a big who has range.

So wonder what they will do.

Livingston obviously wasn't working out.

How freaky was it that Chris Roberts and Chris Douglas Roberts were teammates? CDR got called up by Dallas.

Jarvis Varnado is a guy I thought would make it out of Mississippi State. I liked his numbers and recall viewing a pretty epic battle between Varnado against DeMarcus Cousins when MSU played Kentucky. I'm not surprised about Varnado. He and Stephane Lasme are guys I thought might blow up in the NBA. Neither has … so far.

Tre Kelley has had tryouts and been waived by Miami, OKC, and Memphis. Quality organizations have given the guy a hard look. By those endorsements alone I would think he probably can play pretty well. The guy keeps scratching and chasing his dream. He was born in DC.

Walker Russell played 28 games with the Pistons last season. However, he is an itty bitty dude, not a good shooter, and he's on the wrong side of 30. Russell can play but I don't think he's a good call up candidate.
