You're right. Pau as a center is a beast. But he's wasting away with us shooting jumpshots. Not to mention he's just too slow to guard 4s and we need defense lol.

How does this explain the fact many times this year Pau has had the ball 2 feet from the rim only to he blocked by a lesser skilled player or when not blocked Pau puts up a weak shot that had little or no chance of going in?

Pau can complain all he wants about being out of position but he's been less than effective with the opportunities in the post he has had. If he was dominating in the post and struggling with his jump shots it would be evident that he's out of position but that's not what's been happening. Pau has struggled to be effective just about everywhere on the court. I'm tired of hearing that he's playing out of position. The guy stugtles to rebound, struggles to defend and has little to no post game to speak of at the moment.

+1, tbh i could careless about what he did in the Olympics, to me he is playing like utter garbage. Like mentioned above, he has been put in the post on some occasions and just completely looks lost. He just doesn't have the same confidence in the post that he has had in the past. Right now other then his passing he is a liability. I love Pau but dude is as fragile as it gets atm, both mentally and physically. He is so scared of failing that he rather throw the ball away then take an open mid range jumper (he did this against GSW but was bailed out by Metta). I mean come on, his non-existent defense is expected but now he sucks on offense as well. Maybe he will get better if he goes onto another team but that is pure speculation. The Pau I see right now is extremely frustrating to watch. Seems as if missing 7 games hasn't done anything for him.

Hills energy is amazing but it hasn't been contagious to the rest of the time. But he still looks out of sort there offensively.

If you look at his 6/9 against the Warriors, you'll realize that a lot of it was of broken plays and the jumpers that he took didn't look like they were part of the offense.

Thats something about MDA i don't get. Every coach manages to work with one big who can't shoot and another who can hit the mid range. Just put in some god dam sets where Hill/Gasol don't have to look lost with Dwight out there.

Lololololololol although this seems like a dis its probably true. I think Pau would unravel if asked to head to the bench. Hill does need to be in the rotation unless his back is bothering him. The guy impresses me every time out.

keep him off the bench as is. he can back up d12 or pau at their positions making us versatile vs opponents. A nice blend mix match rotation of ron pau hill is a nice luxury to have.

Indeed it is a nice luxury but it may be a luxury we can't afford. Unless our front court (ie Pau, Ron Ron, Hill and Dwight) starts doing a better job of dominating games we might be better off giving up some or our size to better shore up some of our perimeter weaknesses (shooting and defense).

In a perfect world Pau's struggles of late stem from being lost at power forward rather than tendonitis in his knees or fatigue. If anybody can help a lost player find his game it's Steve mf'ing Nash! (I did say in a perfect world but I don't think it's totally out of the question that Pau re-emerges as a force now that Nash is back in the lineup. A guy can't dream can't he? :) )

ya i know what you mean my brotha! i guess another way to put it is that part of the game is depth and the teams's ability to absorb injuries and so far we been the victims of style of play/coaching changes/identity/pau/howard/nash inuries and kobes 41 lolol. If hill can consistently knock down those mid range like a brandon bass/scola ill be in love!

As of right now his play clearly shines soon as he enters the game on the defensive end/energy. Now its a matter of blending in jamison/blake ???

Jamison and Blake should not be getting any minutes unless someone gets hurt.

I'm sold wih:

Nash
Meeks
Bryant
Hill
Dwight

as starters. then insert Pau and Ron at 5 and 4 and tinker with the wing and backcourt. Gek said it best about Pau. don't care if he feels demoted. take it as a pro like Ron. if he doesn't deliver as the main post threat with the 2nd unit then it's his problem.

He seems to be developing a good mid-range game and can provide bonus offense. He provides a lot of energy, pretty good defense, and great height and length. He is a bigger asset than Jamison that is for sure.

This, please, assuming we're stuck with Gasol for the remainder of the season.
