I think if Riley could trade Rio for some better frontcourt pieces he would. Norris has similar attributes is cheaper and plays defense.

Re: Is Mario Chalmers our future PG?
I look forward to Chalmers and Cole battling it out for the next few years a la TJ Ford and Jose Calderon for Toronto from a few years back. Both players bring something unique to the table, and a constant sense of urgency can only work wonders for them as they continue to mature. I think it's great, and we'll benefit. Chalmers will be just fine.

I remember watching the first game of this season and thinking this was his year.
How wrong I was.

Cole should be our starter. Simply because Cole's defense is **** amazing.

I haven't really been worried about any of our players except Haslem, but even he seems to be turning it around. Chalmers will be fine. He's clutch, and for this team he's perfect. Really Cole and Rio should be the least of Riley's concerns. Now if only Pitt could be a serviceable big man.

Re: Is Mario Chalmers our future PG?
Our PG rotation is really fine. We have a guy who elevates his game in playoffs and is cold-blooded in Mario and an energy guy providing needed defense to make PGs life miserable in Cole. Srsly, when healthy they are just fine. Of course, if we could sign Mo this summer it would be great but realistically this is the best rotation we could have. Just continue to develop these guys....

Re: Is Mario Chalmers our future PG?
This game tonight proves why Mario is still an integral part of this team's success.
You can say whatever you want about the guy but one thing you can't say is that the dude doesn't have some balls. He consistently gets up for big games. Hopefully tonight gives him some confidence and he plays some better basketball going forward.

Yup..we all knew that, mentioned that in the OP. just wish he could be more consistent...his up and down are just crazy, u can never know what to expect. Why cant he stay at least decent most of the time?

Re: Is Mario Chalmers our future PG?
Obviously, he has been playing well against the Thunder as of late. What I like most about this is that it's against one of the fastest PG's in Westbrook. A huge part of why we've won against the Thunder, especially Game 4 in the Finals. Today as well.
This goes back to not being consistent...
Though I wonder if he would do these types of things against a team that isn't the Thunder. A lot of it as well is Westbrook getting lost on defense, and Chalmers trying to prove himself lol. Whatever wakes up Rio.

Re: Is Mario Chalmers our future PG?
I really hope Mario is someone we can build up from ground zero. We really do not have the cap space to get an amazing point guard but Mario is def improving his skills. Consistency is something he lacks but he is big in BIG games (according to Wade and Coach Spo).
I like Rio.

Re: Is Mario Chalmers our future PG?
If Mario is in control and hitting open shots, he is a serviceable pg with us and well worth whatever he will make in fa compared to anyone else.
He hit his threes yesterday and when he does that is key. Yes, he could drive in and make crafty plays, but that is very seldom needed from him.
