This is a case study of a player adjusting to his role on a team. A consideration that always needs to be brought into scouting.

I'd also add that the context of him on the team with Noah playing is also a large factor.

No one (yes I'm exagerrating and in fact would have loved a Noah/Asilk) combo starting) thought a lineup with Noah and Asik starting was viable at the time.

I mean you consider all of the factors, which are probably in the hundreds, and you've done moreso than I or you have. I just get kinda annoyed when people decide to stare at the two-three factors that are part of the 100.

I mean, there are a lot of issues with this team and there are a million things that could have been done differently, but there is nothing that led the team 100% to this point and focusing too hard on a couple of them is just a way to make you hate what you like.

I say this as someone who reactionarily thought

1. We should have sent Teague to the D-league
2. Nazi Mohammed would be our second best bench player
3. Nate Robinson and Belinelli should be cut

before the season started.

How did Taj not block that shot? Might have been the easiest opportunity to block a shot all night. He was right there..

Had the bulls traded either Asik or Gibson last year when we were trying to win, people would have been up in arms

**** em. Thats as simple as I can put it. You can't run a team well with the fans getting a vote in the war room.

Unfortunately he won't be able to keep this up all quarter. Someone else is going to have to wake up and our D is going to have to force TOs.
14 years is a nice run but it's time to end the Paxson era.

But still Asik was a guy who Thibs often closed out games with and was a big part of the Bulls bench. So what do you do? I agree the Bulls didn't think through what could possibly happen on the open market with Asik. But hindsight is 20-20 to say they should've traded him during a time where the Bulls were trying to win a title.

If I was at the game the last thing I'd want to hear is Gangnam Style.

Also coincidentally the last thing I'd want to hear playing at the stadium while watching the game on TV.

Pax gets too attached to his scrubs

EVERYBODY saw this coming from Kirk. Except the guy that, you know, actually gets paid to make these kinds of decisions.

D-Rose wanted him on the team and Hinrich was the first guy he recruited.

Noah and Thibs wanred him too.

Didn't we hear rumors of the Bulls talking to teams about Asik? I'm sure they weren't shopping him but they were listening. They deemed most of what they got unsuitable. The Bulls still believed they could contend and dealing Asik without getting another big wouldn't have satisfied that goal.

It's a tough spot to be in. Boston traded Kendrick Perkins during a year when people thought they were contending, and everyone killed Ainge for it.

Kendrick Perkins was Boston's starting center. Asik, as good as he is, was our 4th big man. And we needed more offense anyway. Made sense to move him to me but hey... I believe in packaging valuable backup pieces like Omer, Taj, Butler, Teague etc... before they become too expensive to be backups anymore. Especially with an owner who's not about to pay the luxury tax.

Funny how Thibs couldn't adjust to this lineup earlier, when it as obvious to even the janitors in the UC that Kirk and Boozer were liabilities..guess it takes a 30 point blowout for that to push Thibs to play Teague, Robinson and Taj.
