Asik and Iggy for Varejao?
I would be the one receiving Varejao. I would pick up Granger off waivers and wait for his return (since I'm currently in first). It's a normal 9 cat league with 10 teams
Not sure if I should pull the trigger on this one. The upside is possibly a boost in rebounds and points...but I'm a little scared that Varejao/Granger are too injury prone, and they're both on the trading block. Whereas Asik/Iggy seem pretty secure in what they'll be producing all season (although you can never really predict the future)

Re: Asik and Iggy for Varejao?
I wouldn't do it. Varejao is only slightly better than Asik and he's got injury concerns. Then you're throwing in Iggy as well? Nah. Asik had 20,18 and 3 blocks yesterday, he is only going to improve.

Re: Asik and Iggy for Varejao?
I haven't been flowing Granger's injury so I'm not sure how to factor that in. But Varejao gives you a surprising amount of assists and steals from the C pos. last time I looked he was leading all C in the league with steals. Varejao also doesn't kill your FT% like Asik can. Though he has improved his FG% dramatically he still needs to lower those TO. He's gotten below averaging 3 a game like he was earlier it's still too much.
I'd rather have Varejao than those two but it depends on how long Granger is out an how much more value you think he brings to the table than Iggy.
You almost always want to be receiving the one better player in a 2 for 1 especially if you can replace the difference in talent with ease.

No. Varejao is 13th on BBM. Asik is 160 or something.

Thanks for giving me something to think about. I think i'll keep my team as is for now, though. Taking into account the injury risk plus the fact that my current team is performing well, ill stick it out for now. I'm just tempted to find some kind of 2 for 1 since granger is available and i can probably afford a month or 2 of him on the bench

Is this H2H or Roto
If this is H2H I would Absolutely would NOT trade Iggy and Asik for Varejo

Not accepting this trade is probably the dumbest move you'll make all year.
Check the rankings yourself:

http://games.espn.go.com/fba/playerrater?startIndex=50
Asik is one of my favorite players IRL, and I feel he's slightly underrated by those rankings going forward, but facts are facts: he's not even top 100 in 8- or 9-cat leagues.
Even if you're banking on Asik improvement, he's still a LOOONG ways to go. Even in December, when he's cut his TOs dramatically and upped his FG%, he's still outside the top-100.
Where is this improvement coming from, by the way? I follow the R ockets closely. Asik loses time to Greg Smith. He's not going to average 35+ mpg anytime soon imo.
Varejao is a monster in 9-cat leagues, has always been a per-minute monster, has no frontcourt competition, and has learned to play w/o fouling so he can actually stay on the floor. On a per-minute basis he's really not playing over his head all that much. Yeah, he'll probably regress, but to what? top-25-30 per game is reasonable.
What this really comes down to is your evaluation of Iggy. Do you think he'll bounce back? I don't. He's playing out of position. Simple as that. He's not a SG, he's a SF. Gallo isn't going anywhere, though, so he's stuck playing SG and underachieving. The Nuggets are often in lineups w/ 4 players who can't space the floor. That is what is killing Iggy's value. That isn't going to change. Faried, Koufos, McGee, Brewer? They're not going anywhere. Even if Gallo bounces back you've still got 2 non-shooters (including Iggy) in the lineup at all times. That always results in cramped space.
Asik is nothing more than a glorified throw-in. A Jason Thompson/J.J. Hickson-esque player. In 2-for-1s it's all about the best player.
Tooth fairy you make little sense. It's actually a WORSE deal in roto because you have a games played limit.
Varejao is certainly an injury risk, but he could afford to miss 20 games and still outproduce the Iggy/Asik combo at the latter's current pace. He would actually still severely outproduce them.

It isn't a worse deal in Roto Apathy
You don't know what you are talking about
Roto has the ability to be flexible with your players and you have the option to "catch up" with a GP LIMIT
H2H is about production every week, once you lose you can't make it up, it isn't weighted for the Reston the season like Roto

H2H is about timing and volume. As long as you make the playoffs, all that matters is production at that point in the season. So everything that's not in the playoffs is heavily discounted.
Roto is all about top-end production and players who don't hurt you anywhere. Because you can choose to use your games whenever you want, it stands to reason that to maximize those games, you use them when your roster is strongest. It doesn't particularly matter WHEN your roster is strongest.

Which is exactly why Iggy and Asik are more valuable in H2H and I would not Trade them for Varejo

Logic tells me that Asik and Iggy gave me Monster games tonight and Varejo owners got Nothing
Logic tells me that Iggy is one of the most durable players in the game with FIVE 82 game seasons and that Varejo has currently played 80 games in the last 3 years
Logic tells me that Varejo is over performing and that Iggy is underperforming
Logic tells me Iggy a bonfied stat filler and consistent top 30 player that is one the most unique players at his position.
logic tells me that as well as a Injury Risk, Varejo is also a trade candidate who's role and production could be up in the air most more than likely decrease his value.
Logic tells me that Asik although not as efficient he is almost as good as Varejo and he too is very durable and has not missed a NBA game.
Logic tells me that anyone who thinks 62 games of Varejo is more valuable than 160games plus of Iggy/Asik in H2H Is delusional
Logic tells me that anyone trading Varejo for Iggy and Asik are getting raped

Yeah, like when Bradley Beal had that monster game and followed it up with 4 points? Small sample size bro.

We're a third of the way into the season. The sample size is growing and growing. Get with the times.

One thing you can’t do with Swisher is just assume he’ll remain consistent, since he’s been consistent. The fact that he’s been the same player four years in a row doesn’t mean he’ll be the same player in 2013 or 2014, because consistency isn’t nearly as predictive as one might imagine. A consistent player is consistent only up until he is not anymore.
Replace Swisher's name with Iguodala. And we actually have a reason (multiple, actually) as to why Iguodala is underperforming:
that is one the most unique players at his position.
He's not playing his position.

I'm not the only observer who's noted the lack of spacing is messing with Iggy:
Danilo Gallinari has forgotten how to shoot, the starting big man tandem has limited range, and teams just don't pay close attention to Andre Miller, Andre Iguodala, or Corey Brewer behind the 3-point line. Defenders are a step closer to the paint than they were last season, and that step is fatal to driving and passing lanes.
logic tells me that as well as a Injury Risk, Varejo is also a trade candidate who's role and production could be up in the air most more than likely decrease his value.
His value can afford to decrease: he's providing first-round value on a per-game basis.
Iggy is providing ~10th round value, Asik ~12th.
Facts are facts.
Logic tells me that Asik although not as efficient he is almost as good as Varejo and he too is very durable and has not missed a NBA game.
You're just making things up to fit your narrative. No ranking system has Asik remotely close to Varejao.
Logic tells me that anyone trading Varejo for Iggy and Asik are getting raped
Agreed. So why did you make this post?
By the way, who exactly is trading for Varejao? Cleveland has repeatedly denied they're shopping Varejao. And for good reason: he's an All-Star caliber C who is signed to a cheap contract.

Trading Iggy AND Asik for Varejo is a horrible trade . It would be a classic example of selling high on a injury proned Varejo and buying low of Iggy ,throwing in Asik is laughable.

Varejao is a player who I doubt would be affected by a trade, I'm not worried about that aspect.
Iggy the iron man isn't worth much if he's playing out of position. I don't see him reaching top 30 value this year. Maybe when Gallo gets injured he would shift to SF but who on that team can play SG? Brewer? Chandler?
Plus you have to factor in Granger into the equation.

http://basketballmonster.com/PlayerRankings.aspx
2 13 0.38 Varejao, Anderson
15 173 -0.35 Asik, Omer
The only positives Asik has are rebounds (where he still gets crushed by Varejao), blocks and FG%.
Varejao is positive in points, rebounds, assists, steals, FG% and turnovers.
9 106 -0.16 Iguodala, Andre DEN G 30 34.7 13.7 1.2 5.6 4.3 1.3 0.7 0.442 11.7 0.688 3.2 2.9 0.01 0.30 0.10 0.54 0.42
Iggy is slightly above average in many categories, but flat-out terrible in FT% (which isn't a fluke -- check out his past couple of years) and TOs. He's actually played WORSE in December.
Again, you're giving no reason why Iggy is going to magically bounce back. Where are you even getting t30 from? He hasn't been t30 since 09-10.
I was very high on Iggy coming into the year, but a smart, shrewd owner knows when to cut his losses, knows when to admit he's wrong.
