Hes rubbish, i honestly dont think you need him against LA. varejao along with ibaka, durant, sefolosha and westbrook would make you guys crazy active/athletic on defense.

I will so do that.

Hes the most overrated player I've ever seen. Hes an energy guy but he isn't going to help anyone win a championship. I don't see why anyone but treadmill/lower class teams would want him.

I marvel at how stupid that last post is. He's an energy guy, and would do a great job on a team going for a championship just like he did with the Cavs when they were.

I think the suspended under his username has something to do with that. Perhaps trolling? Anyways, everybody around the NBA world knows what type of impact AV has on the basketball. Let's be honest. 15-15 just doesn't grow on trees. No he's not an number one option. I wouldn't even count on him as a second option. He's a consistent double double as any big men in the league. Extreme BBall IQ and is one of the best passing big men in the league. There's not many of those types of players in the league. He's worth more to us than anybody else so if we don't get a deal that sweeps us off our feet, then we won't make the move. Just that simple. He loves Cleveland and if he stays, we'll continue to build. No hard feelings.

I guess he could be a decent part of a championship team, thats if that team has no good pfs at all. He doesn't elevate teams to victories the way other powerfowards do. Any player playing their speified role on the right team can contribute to a ring. His contribution would most likely be off the bench. I see him as overrated because people look to him as some sort of glorified allstar. Hes been playing the same way since his days with lebron. Put him on the raptors and the raptors would have the same record.

Re: Trading Varejao Vs Keeping him
What an idiot. Varejao was a key player on 66 and 61 win teams. He was not a starter but he was on the court to close every game. What's funny is that you are arguing both sides. You say that he doesn't help a good team, but then you are arguing that if you put him on a bad team he wouldn't elevate them. I agree he won't make a sucky team like the Raps good (the Cavs either). But as always I think you are completely stupid if you don't think he does a lot for a good team. There was a reason that he was 2nd in the league in +/- or at least one of the leaders for years.

Why do Raptors fans like D-BE-LAW have a habit of showing up here just to cause trouble? I can understand angry Kobe, Rubio and Wizards fans, but I don't get the Toronto hate.

Re: Trading Varejao Vs Keeping him
Because they dont watch him every night. I think if there is a reason he doesnt elevate losing teams to a much greater number of wins its because the talent (or lack of) doesnt take enough advantage of the extra posessions he gets the team. Thats why his plus/minus was so good with Lebron here, the talent was able to do something with the 5 or 6 extra posessions he gets.
On most nights his defense on the opposing C is very good, but lets face it, not many teams have dominant C's so it goes unnoticed, and since Andy isnt really a shot blocker he doesnt get noticed for what he is doing defensively. Also, one of his better assets is his weakside help defense, getting position causing turnovers and drawing offensive fouls, and that actually works against him in some peoples eyes, those who see him as a "flopper" and nothing more.
For me, I take what opposing coaches and players are saying over what many of the people on these boards spout about Andy, and what I see him do every game for our team. Still, for the right deal..........

Well said. He's a glue guy for championship caliber teams, one of the better complementary bigs in the game.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Re: Trading Varejao Vs Keeping him
What's funny is that you hear various scouts and coaches say that Varejao is probably the top player available right now via trade and yet this guys comes in saying that he's merely a hustle guy that can't help a team win. It's hard to maintain your calm confronted with such arguments.

So anyone else feel like we are holding out AV to protect his trade value?

No if anything it hurts his value because it just adds to his injury prone status.
