Re: The OFFICIAL Rookie impressions thread pt. II
Lillard with 17 points, 11 assists, and 8 rebounds tonight. Flirted with the triple-double!

Robinson is listed as 6'10" on the nba website, I think he was half an inch shorter than that in the combine but dam he looks much shorter than that. Babbit who's 6'8", maybe 9 on a good day looked at least an inch or two taller than him.
what's the deal.

At the pre-draft combine, he measured 6-8 and a half in shoes. Luke Babbitt listed 6-8 and a 3rd in shoes.

Even then, he just looks so undersized. Way too early to tell but what's he got going for him? At the draft all I heard was how he is an athletic power forward but the NBA is littered with those, does he have a workable jumpshot or a good post game?
Haven't seen much of him outside the four Portland games

The Kings have done such a poor job of ever getting him minutes that it's impossible to tell what he is right now.

Noticed that before, he doesn't look much taller than Chuck Hayes...

He's a good dunker but he's not a super jumping guy like Westbrook.

That isn't a bad thing though. Dunking is overrated if you think it amounts to anything or that it makes one player have an advantage over another. Gerald Green can dunk too. Jaw dropping elevation. He's still a scrub.

Not much chat about Meyers Leonard lately. I noticed he has slipped behind Babbit in the rotation. How's he progressing? Has he learned a shred of defense yet?

He has been good. His jumper is streaky but where he needs the most improvement is finishing at the rim. He makes a really good move and gets right to the basket, but he seems miss the finish too often.
He has been better than every rookie that was even considered a Top-10 pick except for Davis, Drummond, Gilchrist, and Lillard. The only guy I would take ahead of him that Cleveland had a chance to get was Drummond. Lillard would have been a terrible fit with Irving being here already. I really wanted Drummond though. Of course if we took Drummond, we probably don't take Zeller and I think Zeller has looked like a Top-10 pick so far this year. I have been VERY impressed by him. He has a bunch of Pau Gasol in his game.

He has gotten slightly better as the year has gone along on the defensive end. He still has a lot of work to do though on that end before the Blazers make him the starter. I think Portland drafted him knowing he had some deficiencies that would take time to work through.

Good = 45% TS?
Except for Rivers, I'd take every player in the top 10 before Waiters.

hasn't really slipped behind babbit
the athleticism, agility, speed and just raw talent for a 7'1 20 year old is all there. Just needs help putting it together and if he does, he will be a starter in the league for a long time.

That 40 percent overall is actually pretty good for Waiters, but surprisingly he's 0-for-12 from beyond the arc since his return.
"Surprisingly"
