Regarding Dwight, Something has to be done about team defense ASAP.

You can tell that he is mad at the lack of team defensive effort. He feels like hes the only one making that a priority and it's now backfiring on him. His "hustling efforts" are getting him in foul trouble, and while calls where not going his way tonight, most of the frustration where coming on the defensive end with team doing horrible job on defending outside shooting and weak side help.

It doesn't help that while the other team superstar is not playing great defense it seems all his effort is going towards scoring and is averaging 30 points a game. Meanwhile Dwight gets inconsistent touches on a game to game basis.

Doesn't look like hes having fun. It could get ugly down the line.

This team has no pride on defense.

This is wrong on so many LEVELS. We lost this game because both DWIGHT and GASOL didnt control the paint and rebounds all game long. I saw Dwight turn and yell at Nash one play because he didnt jump in front of 7ft Mcgee going to the basket. That fell on Dwight not Nash. BTW Dwight for his career has avg barely over 10fg attempts per game and he doesnt have a great back to the basket game. In this offense we ask Gasol to adjust to the pick n pop/roll offense and Dwight shouldn't have to do the same??? Dwight isnt healthy and its obvious but dont make it seem like his defense has been AWESOME so far this season because as of today it hasn't. We'll be playing at our best this season when he commits to dominating the defensive end. Protecting the paint and rebounding.

Are you **** kidding me? Lakers getting outrebounded? Can someone please fill me in, what in the **** hell happened?

we were down by 9 i think and then as a result down by 13, but by the flow of the game it was pretty obvious we weren't going to win this one.

I finally got to watch the highlights, and we were down by 6 when the foul occurred. I think we could've won the game if he wasn't eject.

However, the underlying issue here is very simple-- There's absolutely no communication on the defensive end. This isn't a personnel issue; the team simply lacks focus and communication on the defensive side of the ball. This isn't any individual's fault (Pau included). The team isn't talking on defense, which is why there are so many players who are constantly unaccounted for. Another issue is our severe inability to maximize our advantage. We should be dumping the ball in the post (Dwight and Pau) for more than we have been. I understand Pau hasn't effectively utilized his post ups thus far, but we should force the issue to help him regain his confidence. I mean, Kobe forces the issue when it isn't going for him, either. Just a thought. . .

Kobe playing SF is something I don't like, either. What's the one thing you can't really work on? Size, and more specifically, length. We have an advantage with Kobe at the 2, and World Peace at the 3. I've always been partial to taller line ups, which is why I absolutely hate World Peace at the 4. Once again, I didn't watch the game, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of their offensive rebounds came when World Peace came in for Howard/Gasol. I think two of Howard/Gasol/Hill should be on the floor at all times, and one of Bryant/Nash. Nash going to the bench won't be as bad when Blake comes back; as horrible as Blake has been, he's much better than Duhon.

Having said all that, it's clear that we need to trade for a win player to allow Kobe/World Peace some rest. The reason why I wanted Pietrus so bad is 'cause he can play both wing positions. At this point, I wouldn't be opposed to Terrence Williams, despite him being a horrible shooter.

Kobe is fine at the at SF. I think he can even get to the basket more at that position, and in the paint for the easy jumper. He's very productive so Kobe is working fine at the SF. That is something I would not change.

Nash is still getting in the groove. He's making mistakes he usually wouldn't make, and that just comes from being rusty coming back from the injury. Team needs more time to mesh with Nash...and Nash needs to get back to his best form. The offense on this team can actually be much better than it has been.

But this team needs to get tougher and play through the fouls. The refs are not giving the Lakers any breaks these past two games. This game especially was one sided.

i like Nash's and Kobe's respect with each other while Howard has been acting like an insecure kid.
Howard is playing uninspired basketball.

Dwight and Nash had different takes on their little on-court dispute after McGee dunked ...
Steve was diplomatic:

"I think every single guard and big goes through a pick-and-roll could squabble over it every time the other team scores. I think that’s more just frustration because neither of us wanted him to score. That kind of stuff should happen. You should be pissed when the other team scores. That’s healthy."

Dwight kind of threw Steve under the bus:

"He was just explaining what happened, what he thought happened. Everybody makes mistakes."

"He just went for the steal and mistimed it and McGee went behind him and dunked the ball."

And this proves my point earlier about what the problem is. Steve Nash isnt the problem he actually did his part..Dwight didnt protect the paint

Probably good they didn't win this game considering the terrible defense. It was hard to watch the pick and roll defense. Adjustments with communication and how they play that need to be made.
