Matt Barnes

We don't have a legit back up small forward. I wonder why we didn't resign this guy. This guy plays with heart. Keep on hustling every night. Now he is playing very well with the Clippers.

Barnes has been superb for the Clippers so far this year but he won't play at this level all year long. He played great for stretches as a Laker and never remained consistent for the whole season so I highly doubt he'll be able to do it all year long as a Clipper.

Because he blew last season. Now he's hitting everything he catches.

its a different offense. On the lakers he was the 5th option anytime on the court. With the clippers, paul finds the open man. The ranking of first option, second option, etc for clippers aren't as important because it revolves around paul. Nash can do the same thing but then kobe finds a way to play hero ball too often and hurts the confidence of streaky shooters like barnes. This is why we can never get a consistent 3 pt threat on the lakers except for the likes of ariza and glen rice. But nonetheless, kobe gave us 5 rings

^ Ugh?

So Fisher, Farmar, Vujacic, Radmanovic, Shannon Brown, Odom and even Walton for a short while making their livelihood off open 3 pointers is not courtesy of Kobe?

Next thing you know Aids in Africa and hunger in Haiti is Kobe's fault for taking too many shots.

He'll fade as usual, Matt does this early every season he's healthy. But the thing with the Clips is this, when the lights get hot and bright we'll see the real "them"

lets just give them props, they deserve it for the time being

knicks were the darling of the NBA for a short period, now they're not and the clippers are...

the clippers will get that target on their backs too, but atm props are due...

He plays defense. He is an energy guy. He can make open threes. PLUS, he can spell Kobe for some SF minutes.

^ funny dude

shannon ill give you.. fisher i can see an argument for. but id count on him only in 4th quarter making clutch 3s or when we are climbing out of a hole.

Vujacic... Where is he again? He was a one year star.

Radman... Walton... you're joking right? I never counted on them to hit 3s even in their contract years.

Odom? took him many many years to hit shots consistently beyond the arc

He just fits their system better and everything is clicking for them right now. Great pointguards make everyone better and we didn't have one the whole time he was here.

He's a great role player, wish we re-signed him.

I think the main issue with Matt Barnes is his consistency. And if you rely on your outside shooting, but don't consistency, then that's a big problem. I remember him having hard time knocking down 3s in the later part of his stint with the Lakers.

The difference between Chris Paul and Kobe Bryant.

Yeh he had a string of good games for us too last season but then quickly faded into scrub-status. Still a good defender though.

The difference between CP3 and Kobe is that when CP3 isn't playing basketball he moonlights as Barnes' doctor and is responsible for him staying healthy so far this year... :roll eyes:

Throughout Barnes' career he's been a decent player when healthy. His problem is that he's rarely healthy for more than two or three months at a time. He often plays through his injuries to the detriment of his efficiency. I'll be very surprised if he can go through the whole year without tweaking something...

With all of that out of the way he is having a great season so far. Good for him we'll see if he can keep it up.
