Oh, I didn't remember that. At any rate, his production for the duration of this contract was more than satisfying so I'd say it has worked out pretty good, all in all. But. as I said in the former post, I agree that Millsap wouldn't be willing to come out of the bench and probably just wants a change of scenery. If the Jazz are going to trade only one of the two (him and Big Al) before the deadline, it should be Paul. He probably has more value anyway.

I have nothing against Millsap signing that contract with PTB, or even saying that he wanted the Jazz not to match or that he wants to start....... He's got a right to do and say anything he wants.......

BUT, what I don't understand is how some fans can overlook everything he does and say and still claim that he's loyal to the Jazz, and that he's a team player.......

Favors is ten times the team player that Millsap is...... And, Jefferson is much better for this team going forard than Millsap...... Any objective fan should be able to see that.......

I think that's just because fans become emotionally attached to certain players. Millsap was drafted by the Jazz in the 2nd round but he made the team, earned playing time under coach Sloan as a rookie with his hustle, became a major steal, playing hard and hustling his ass off. He kept working hard on his game and steadily improved over the course of his career, always produced, only missed a handful of games (a stark contrast with other Jazzmen in the past few seasons, I won't make names), was often forced to play less minutes than he deserved until he was finally given a starting role. His is a great success story and fans love that, so it's hard to admit that it's probably going to be over soon, even if the writing has been on the wall for some time now (and it's become even more evident this season).

i never came across a report that mentioned millsap saying that. or something to the effect of he hopes the jazz don't match, but i may be wrong. i'm not saying this didn't happen because i'm really totally unaware of this, but i would appreciate a link for it.

The real decision the Jazz FO is making is between Continuity, Cap Flexibility, and Cash Considerations.

Read some of the threads that were active when Millsap signed that contract, like this one......
