Who would replace Felton? (Top 10 PGs)

Post#1 » by breakmon » Sat Dec 29, 2012 10:41 pm

In my opinion, Raymond Felton is good as a backup PG, but he won't take us to the next level. What we need is a PG who can direct our offense in a controlled fashion without just chucking up shots.

Here are the top 10 PGs in the league right now (ESPN Player Rater: http://games.espn.go.com/fba/playerrate ... tegoryId=0)

1. Chris Paul
2. Stephen Curry
3. Russell Westbrook
4. Tony Parker
5. Rajon Rondo
6. Damian Lillard
7. Kemba Walker
8. George Hill
9. Jeremy Lin
10. Brandon Jennings

Who do you think we should aim for?

None, we have two great PGs in Felton and Kidd, and we really don't need to upgrade there.

If there's one position we need to upgrade it's SF/PF depending on what position Woodson has Melo play in crunch time, since Amar'e is on the decline now, but even that is probably unnecessary. Right now we're in a good position to just get into the playoffs and see how far we go, and go from there.

You guys are all bagging on my boy Felty Felt, but I honestly think Felton just needs to shoot it out. Okay, so he had a bad game. So what? We still came very close to winning on a ROAD game. The way this team is set up has proven to be effective. We need Felton taking 15+ shots in order to be an elite championship contender. Sometimes, like tonight, it may not work, but in the long run it will pay off. Just be patient.

Don't see why Westbrook is listed so high. I swear he has to be one of the most overrated PGs in the NBA.
He's averaging 21.2 points...while shooting 39% from the field.
Meaning he's chucking up a lot of shots to get those points.

His TOs are still way too high for a PG and his assists average isn't that impressive when he has Durant/Ibaka/K-Mart to pass to.

Brandon Jennings is the only guy who possible will be avilable. He wouldnt come here cheap. It would cost us at least 4 assets. 3 good players (Felton, Copeland, Camby) and and a future pick.. And thats only if they decide they want to breakup their backcourt.

EXPOSED!

Are we saying who is a better PG than Felton...? Yeah there are other PGs better than Felton. Now realistically who can come on and be the new Knicks starting point...? dumb question because it won't happen.

He definitely needs to put a cap on his shots per game. He shouldn't be getting into the teens regularly unless he can't miss.

He's one of the main reasons we're 21-9 right now. We don't get those quality wins in Miami and SA without him, too.

He's contributed to our success but he is not a great pg.
