Heat begin talks with Kenyon Martin

Post#1 » by wAtChOut218 » Sun Dec 30, 2012 10:22 pm

Heat started the conversation with Kenyon Martin today. Not sure when it happens but he'll be in a Heat uniform this year.

Watchout has been pin point on a lot of things. So, I think it is probable. We need another big in our rotation, for sure. I just hope it doesn't come at the cost of Jorts (though, not that he has shown much, really. Even then, it is unfair to say that since he has had limited play time). I'd rather we cut a wing at the end of the bench (as much as I love Harris' defensive energy).

Though, the Heat give the champions the benefit of the doubt (as seen with Pittman and Harris being kept over Temple). I think Jorts will be the odd man out.

@winisking: Watchout is a supposed Heat insider. So far, his track record is pretty legit. I believe he called the Big 3, Mike Bibby, Ronny Turiaf, Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis signings, as well as the Supercool Beasley trade. At least, this is what I gather from how far I looked back at his posts.

Kenyon martin would be an awesome pickup. Hopefully he takes minutes away from Haslem. He guards the 3/4 very well, rebounds well and is surprisingly a good midrange shooter. i'm guessing he hasn't been picked up because of attitude problems, but I trust the clout on this team to keep him in line.

Avatar bet says even if we sign him, he doesn't sniff the court in the Finals. This smells like last year's Turiaf signing. We had all the chance in the world to sign KMart, and even invite him to training camp. We chose not to, which suggests this is a last resort. Last resorts rarely pan out. PEACE.

Im not that big on him but i guess it couldn't hurt. he's better then Haslem i guess.

I hope Riley Has something bigger planned, i still believe Delonte West could help us. If we get his head right he can be our best PG and our seconed best SG, he's a two way player that play defense and can score.

Freud and Jung couldn't get that dude's head right if they were running tag team therapy sessions.

Finally the stupid Heat front office understands that having big men is the most important part of a team and we have garbage outside of Bosh.

I'm told they reach out out. But told nothing is certain.

Nice job Watchout, hopefully your right. We really need a BIG MAN. Harrellson sucks, Joel has no offense and UD needs to find that jumper.

If we face Lakers or SAS in final we would lose on the boards.

big 3 or at least lebron was Shaq_diesel i am pretty sure. Regardless watchout is pretty accurate so it's great to hear this

I think Haslem is still better than Martin though.

If we do sign him. I say insert him into the starting spot right away, of course after getting a practice or two in. But yea insert him right next to Bosh and hope for the best!

It could work. I'm not expecting this to be a miracle cure though. We're going to have to find our groove again, and keep making those small improvements.

K-mart will bring much needed intensity to this club, I don't know how Bosh would like him though lol... Right now we need high energy guys to play D and rebounds.

I like this line up :

Bosh - Joel -Jort
K-mart - Haslem
Lebron - Battier
Wade - Allen
Cole - Chalmers

Another guy to give hard fouls and play with intensity, I like it. If there's one thing you can count on from Martin it's that he goes hard.

K-Mart would be great!!!! But last year we should have signed JJ Hickson instead of Turiaf. He would be all we need and he plays well with Lebron!!!

I'm all in for this. Something needs to change in terms of our big rotation.
