With a return in January imminent, is it time to pick John Wall up? If so, who should I drop on my team? Everyone is pretty consistent, and I don't think I can afford to drop anymore bigs (I dropped Kaman for Eric Gordon). I'm sitting second place in the league right now, but I lost rebounds last week for the first time.
The three I'm thinking are: Jamal Crawford, OJ Mayo, and Vasquez. However, I really don't want to bite my tongue after dropping them. Can I package 2 of these players for a big, and if so who should I target?
12 Team H2H, 9 categories (FG%, FT%, 3PTM, PTS, REB, AST, ST, BLK, TO)
My team:
PG: Jose Calderon, Rajon Rondo
PG/SG: Jamal Crawford, Greivis Vasquez
SG: Eric Gordon, O.J. Mayo
SG/SF: James Harden, Nicolas Batum
SF/PF: Josh Smith
PF/C: Nikola Vucevic, Zach Randolph, Larry Sanders
C: Greg Monroe
Even though I'm second place right now, I'm very far from first. First place is dismantling everyone 8-1 each week, and I lost to him badly the first week. I'm thinking Wall might give me a better shot to beat him in the playoffs.
Thanks, I appreciate the help!

Crawford or Vasquez.
I'd suggest a 2-for-1.Mayo/Smith, Mayo/Randolph, Mayo/Monroe. Doesn't really matter who you target. Consolidating the 2 into even a slightly better 1 is a win for your team. Mayo's value is plummeting, too, so may as well get what you can for him. He's been top 20-25 to this point but wouldn't be surprised if he dropped to t50 from now on.

Thanks for the great response Apathy. I've done fantasy basketball for a few years now, but I usually rely on FA and never through trades. Can you throw out a few names for me just so I have an idea who I can expect for Mayo/Monroe? Like you said, Mayo is slipping, and Monroe has been having very weak games recently.

Anyone. Duncan, Lee, Noah, Ibaka, Jefferson, M Gasol, Bosh, Anderson, Aldridge, Griffin, Chandler.

Great! I was thinking Lee or Jefferson. Last question from me - is Kevin Love too much of a stretch?
Thanks again and Happy New Year!

No.
I really wouldn't care which one of those bigs you got. Any of them constitutes a good deal.
And if Monroe/Mayo doesn't work, Randolph/Mayo will. Then you can aim for the upper-tier bigs rather than the lower ones.
There are so many bigs there that someone's bound to accept.
That said, if you have Wall/Craw/Vasquez/Gordon/Smith/Batum/Harden/Sanders all on one team, FG% is a problem. You will need to do something about that. Or do you plan on punting FG%?
Maybe Vasquez/Randolph is a better idea. Randolph/Craw.
You have a lot of tradeable pieces, so you will be able to find a good deal or two.

Vasquez for Wall. Having Vasquez and Wall on your team would be a disaster for both FG% and TOs.
